Arrow The Roy Harper/Colton Haynes Thread!

Unless I'm mistaken, I think Roy is like the only major character on this show that we've never seen in the show's traditional "Flashback" sequences.

Almost every major recurring character has appeared, in one way or another, in a Flashback on this show.

This makes sense... it'd be difficult for Roy to come off 5 years younger. Willa Holland can, pass for 15 by TV standards. Colton cannot.

I don't even ship, no sailing, not so much as a FedEx package from me, but as of right now I ship, and this is what I ship, because this right here is my ship. I ship you not.

Dude needs more to do on the show. Really enjoyed the bit with the Cop's family yesterday.

Yeah I loved that scene with him and Thea, I honestly thinking Atom to The Flash and Canary top a BoP show while adding Arsenal & Speedy as a duo to Team Arrow would give the show a breath of fresh air.

Of course it is still canon for pre-52/Convergence. But wow that was such a bad storyline.

When we made the deal. We made a two-season deal that had a clock on it, we always knew that. When he was coming off Teen Wolf, we described the role to him, and we agreed he would do it for a couple of years. At that particular moment, he had a lot of opportunities to do things, and we’re lucky he chose us. He brought a lot of nototriety and viewership to the show when we were growing, and the show wouldn’t be the show it is without him. He is such a talent and such a nice guy, everybody from crew to writers were so enthusiastic to have him for the time we had him. We are sad to see him go but excited to see what he does next.

Hope he goes to the Atom spinoff or that Titans show.

Titans would have to be in continuity first for that to happen, which i doubt it will be.

I can't really blame him for leaving. They haven't done anything interesting with his character this season other than give him a cool costume.

Perhaps, though Colton wasn't at the table read and I think they are just about done filming the finale with him no where in sight. I think he may be in 21 or 22.

They knew - or suspected - that they'd only have him on the show three years and consistently neglected to give him anything to do? Geez.

I am not going to lie, if they had to remove a character from the show then I would have preferred it to have been Roy. He was a good character with some good moments but they really did not do that much with him or give him many good storylines. I think this was a good farewell for him and he left the show by playing a big part in helping Oliver get out of trouble with the law. If he does return to the show, hopefully they have something for him to do.

Well, I was hoping he would lose an arm before he left, but oh well.

I'm really hoping this means a shared universe with Titans and that he'll be showing up there, but that may just be wishful thinking...

it just sucks that they gave him that cool ass new outfit( i mean he had a dummy with plexiglass and everything!) just to write him off! that sucks!! but yeah maybe the comic book gods will be kind and he shows up with nightwing! that would be the &*()!!!

I hope he ends up with the Titans, but i doubt that'll happen

It's disappointing that we never even got to see him as Arsenal for a full season, but I'm happy for him. He's got the opportunity to pursue bigger and better things now that his time on Arrow is over. Looking forward to see him one more time this season in what I hope is the season finale. And who knows, perhaps we'll see him back on Arrow again down the road.

Maybe that's the reason there. They knew he wouldn't be around for long and that's why they didn't develop any long term story arcs to him.

That is depressing. Glad they didn't kill his character off but it's a travesty what they have done to Roy on the show, especially when you consider that there's a lot to explore about him. Instead, they made his character like an afterthought most of the time particularly in season 3 and he really only had better and more materials to work with when Oliver was in major trouble (e.g when he was supposedly dead, being chased all over the place by Lance). Sigh.

You know, I'm kinda glad that Roy is gone. He was wasted on the show anyway. Maybe he'll get some proper work on another show.
