Arrow The Roy Harper/Colton Haynes Thread!

I did my homework.

Jim Harper was cloned by Cadmus from the original Roy Harper. Although he was the younger clone chronologically, he was force-grown to be physically older than Red Arrow. He was implanted with false memories that he was the grandson of the original Guardian, also named Jim Harper.

Maybe they should go the Jason Todd route with Roy becoming Speedy. Have Roy later on throw on his own costume inspired by Ollie's and take on crime fighting on his own with a more violent reckless approach (not even being afraid to use guns). Make it last a whole season. First half he could be a reckless vigilante and then Ollie decides to train him. I think he should have some after effects of the superhuman serum if he ever returns to normal. It will allow him to be able to keep up with Ollie physically with less training and be believable. He doesn't need superstrength or speed, but at least enhance his reflexes and stuff.

I'd love for his costume to look like the Arrow's but more tactical. Give him a hood but I'd also love for him to rock his Speedy hat under it with a domino mask. An episode where he teams up with Robin who is in Starling City investigating a case related to something that happened in Gotham would be great. Robin and Speedy could form a partnership as Robin explains he's trying to branch away from Batman (who is alluded to). Maybe at the end have Robin inspire Speedy to go on his own which would cause him to leave (maybe even hint at the two going off to form their own team aka the Titans).

Have him return much later on to the show as Arsenal (as either working with the Outsiders or as a government agent in training after being recruited to work with them in a separate case).

At least that's how I'd like to see his appearances handled.

I really like the idea that the mirakiru becomes the start of his addiction. Which would also lead into him losing the powers and becoming red arrow. He already has a red hoodie! He just needs a dope stume. I also hope thea becomes speedy.

Roy becoming Red Arrow will probably be the reason that Ollie starts being called Green Arrow so I'm not getting my hopes up on Arsenal. Maybe Speedy in honor of Thea if she doesn't make it to season 3...Or both. The press could call him The Red Arrow while Speedy is Ollie's nickname for him. I feel like all of these make more sense than Arsenal if he is using a bow and arrow.

Here's what I would like to happen:

Thea dies. Roy adopts the name of Speedy in her honor. Cheshire gets introduced. Roy and Ollie fight her for a while. Sportsmaster and Artemis get introduced. Roy quits the arrow team and becomes Arsenal and [insert drama here].

We need more global and reoccurring villains than villain of the week.
Bring back Count Vertigo and Huntress. (or make a new version). Introduce Vandal Savage.
Mention Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor. Introduce Zatanna.

There should be more DC characters with more permanent relation to the plot.

Honestly, I think Roy will be Red Arrow. I think Diggle will be called Arsenal eventually though. He's the only one on Team Arrow who consistently uses firearms, and was well trained with them in the military. It only makes sense IMO.

I just have trouble figuring out what direction they are going with for Felicity.

Roy can't be Red Arrow. He isn't trained in archery and can't even fire a bow without breaking it.

Roy would be better suited for Arsenal. Diggle is Diggle.

Diggle and Felicity shouldn't have code names, for a few reasons.

Roy can start as Red Arrow. This will be how Oliver solidifies that he is the Green Arrow. It's just color coding to them. He'll be Arsenal when he goes off on his own and starts using firearms/gets trained by Deathstroke/etc.

Based on the most recent producer interview, I think Oliver will only become 'Green Arrow' in the final episode, and the "Arrow" series is about the young proto-'Arrow' character finding his way.

I believe so. Young Justice portrayed him that way, so I assume there was relevant precedent for it in the source material.

Red Arrow has a larger focus on being an archer, while Asenal tends to use whatever weaponry happens to be on hand. They both use the Bow, but Red Arrow acts like a pallet swap for Green Arrow while Arsenal is more of just a fun character.

So if they did want to give Diggle one of Roy's identities, Arsenal would probably fit him better, but I kind of prefer that identity for Roy himself (being nicknamed Red Arrow tends to foreshadow him getting screwed somehow.) I think Digg should either get his own code name (maybe like The Guardian?) or have one made from whole clothe.
