Anyway, I personally would've preferred to see Gwen and MJ together as friends in this new franchise, but oh well. Hopefully, Webb (or the director after him) will give us a great interpretation of the character. I don't know how they'll be able to match what they've done with Peter and Gwen's relationship though.

The Peter/Gwen relationship is going to be really difficult to top IMO. But it doesn't have to be "better." It'll be interesting to see Peter move on to a different love interest in the same series. I think it'll help things stay fresh and avoid becoming stale like the Peter/MJ relationship in Raimi's series.

Yeah it would be cool, i think it will be very hard or almost impossible to match Andrew and Emma chemistry if she really dies but lets see what happens.

I also believe that the greatest acts of heroism are those performed in the midst of tragedy. So Gwen dying should only add to Spider-Man's character, as he will continue to fight on despite the great loss he experiences.

Peter will also have added incentive to protect his secret identity at all costs, which is something I look forward to seeing in future films.

I think Peter will find strenght in MJ in later films, and i would like it to be after he uses the symbionte giving a chance for one last apparison of Gwen in Peter mind when he is trying to take off the symbiote, he is in some kinda of dream after he fails to take off the symbiote and Peter is crounched looking to the floor thinking of his failures and then Gwen appears and say that he need to get out of this because Spiderman is needed and that she will always be with him..

Yeah, a friendship first would be best. Peter and Gwen jumped into a relationship very quickly, but that worked for the teenage star-crossed love affair that they were going for in TASM1. It'll work better for Peter and MJ if they postpone the romantic aspect of their relationship. Peter will most likely avoid romance for a while after Gwen, and if MJ is anything like her 616 counterpart, she'll be avoiding serious relationships too. Instead of having this intense romance from the get-go, I think it'll work in their favor if they slowly imply and build up the tension/attraction between the characters. Then, have the 'pay off' in TASM4 when they both come to realize how strongly they feel about one another.

Btw, it would be pretty great if they had Aunt May introduce MJ to Peter like the comics.

I think that's how it should happen. Peter is constantly trying to avoid her because he doesn't want a girlfriend right now (something like that) and eventually MJ greets Peter at the door with, "face it tiger..."

I love Aunt May in this series. She reminds me of my aunt because of her spirited attitude. Like she's fun to be around.

I agree Sally was a great choice to play May. I'm glad we get to see her and Peter finally meshing well.
