I like the Bruce action scenes too. The fights, riding to the rally and finding those two cops. I prefer my Bruce less foppish and more man-of-action ... when not being observed.

A maskless Batman vs. Bane final fight would be ideal for me.

More Matches Malone eh? Yea I loved the scenes too, with Batman a wanted man now I wouldnt be surprised if we get more of Bruce/Matches investigating.

Didn't he do that in the prison scene and the LOS scene? and somewhat at the fundraiser for Dent.

Those aren't scenes from Rises. :oldrazz:

But if you mean a full fledged brawl with Bane then yeah that would be pretty badass.

Yeah. The suggestion I was making is that the suit makes it hard for the actor to move so the movements are really stiff looking and the choreography is slow. If he weren't hindered by the suit in a full-on rumble with Bane, it could be pretty sweet.

Yes please!

He was lucky those guys were blindfolded. A disguise would be awesome.

So you guys want to watch a Batman movie that ends with no Batman? WTF. Batman was sidelined enough in TDK.

Bruce fighting out of the suit would probably be the best fight scene in the film.

I've been an advocate of this ever since I saw Hardy in Bronson. A very in-your-face brawl sans costumes in the middle of the film would be IDEAL. It'd be like the sword-tango with Ra's/Ducard.

But definitely not in the finale.

I also want that very strong, explosives-savvy BATMAN v BANE across the streets and buildings of Gotham City. One of the best things about that sequence in TDK is how it started off as a car-chase and got pulled and drag across town, with the Batmobile shot into pieces and formed into the Pod, and finally with the Joker, Bats and Gordon on their feet. Hell, everyone had their rides destroyed by the end! :D It almost felt like a climatic battle right there.

That's the kind of all-out progression/destruction I want from a Bane v Batman duel.

Your bad taste has been noted a long time ago. :cwink:

Yeah, if there was one criticism of TDK I could choose, is that it seemed like Batman was a side character in his own movie.

I could see why one would think that, but as I said, I think that he was handled perfectly, considering who he was sharing screentime with.

The Joker was always going to overshadow Batman. But, the problem was exacerbated when Harvey Dent became more of a protagonist than Batman. Aaron Eckhart really stole the show in that regard. Hell, even Gordon held my attention more.

It also seemed as if Batman was simply reacting to the events of the movie rather than participating in those events in any way.

I loved that Batman was trying to "keep up" with the Joker in DK, Ive always gotten that sense in the great Joker stories as well. I thought his screen time was handled perfectly and I wasnt craving more Batman when it was over.

That is subjective. I think they all worked fine together. It was an ensemble movie, true, but it was still very much Batman's movie. Maybe it rubbed people the wrong way because BB was pretty much a one man show and TDK changed that?

To a degree he was reactive. But he did make some of the most important decisions throughout the movie. He wasn't the only driving force behind the film, but he was one of the 3.

I think my biggest problem here is that I do not like Bale's performace as Batman when it comes to being a likeable, relatable main character.

No? I can't conceive of the very end of Nolan's Batman trilogy occurring without Batman there to stand against the muddy darkness of Gotham's midnight skyline, as a totemic statement of justice in the face of iniquity.

It is told here as it should be in the end

Whatever the changes to the suit will be for the third film may have to address how much stronger Bane will be than Bats, in other words I feel that the armor will have to be stronger to keep up with Bane's massive blows.

Agreed. Batman gets destroyed in their first battle, gets help from Lucius to reinforce the suit (hopefully it doesnt end up looking like the Jean Paul Valley Power Ranger Suit) and defeats Bane.

I kinda feel like that's the opposite of rewarding. He should be stripped down when he defeats Bane. It can't just be about getting new equipment. I myself admit that I'd like a new suit in the movie, but the whole point of Bruce coming back from a defeat at Bane's hands should be about him rebuilding his confidence and not relying on technology.

Agreed. Batman beating Bane with a better suit is simplistic, boring, thematically void, and a little hokey. How the climax plays out is obviously going to be dependent on whatever the theme of the movie ends up being, but suffice to say it should be something the highlights Batman's strength of will and cunning, his ability to do things nobody else can do or is willing to do--not his ability to buy better gadgets.

If there's one thing the Nolan brothers really succeed at with their Batman stories, it's adapting themes and bigger ideas from the comics. They may not be verbatim, but they translate well. For example, the idea of Joker's influence on Harvey up to and especially in the hospital scene is a great adaption of the idea from Killing Joke of the Joker taking one of Batman's allies and driving them mad to prove a point. This in mind, I can definitely see Nolan taking the overall theme from Knightfall of Bruce having to retrain himself to take on Bane again being adapted. At least I hope so.
