The cowl that guy has in that video is probably the best cowl i've ever seen. Its thick like Nolan's (unlike Burton's and Schumacher's) but its not bulbous or fat around the cheeks. From certain angles Nolan's cowls look good but from others you can see those cheeks are just huge chunks of plastic sticking out from the sides of his head. I guess Nolan needs to slim it down even more.

Also thumbs up for the big mouth opening with the slit on top and the non raised cowl eyebrows (in TDK batman was like "whaaaaat?"). I'd like bigger ears though.

Btw his girlfriend is hot aside from the disgusting fart thing.

That works for Daredevil because he is blind. Batman's eyes should be visible because he uses them to express and emote to intimidate his opponents.

Speaking of Daredevil, why did so many people want a Batman movie to be like that when it hit the screens in 2003?

because anything was better than Batman and Robin :word:

I prefer the Nolan series cowl. It looks intimidating.

It seems odd to me though, that those people didn't want another movie like the Burton films or what have you if it was just being better than The Movie of Which We Do Not Speak. Was there anything specific they wanted a new Batman movie to emulate? Was it the fight scenes? The dark story? The fidelity to the comic? The attempt at realism? The costumes?

The Begins cowl does indeed, but they could take this one and add more anger to its sculpted facial expression.

Even though I love Bats being able to actually turn his head and all now, I still miss that panther neck he had in BEGINS.
I actually do like the neck more in TDK, but I'm just talking about the actual shape of the cowl from BB. It was slightly different, and looked more intimidating. Also, the nose didn't make Batman look like Toucan Sam with asthma.:oldrazz:

Can you actually show me the difference between the head of the Begins cowl and the Dark Knight cowl? I watched a behind the scenes featurette that said that they used the same head sculpt for TDK.

I hope they keep the TDK suit. It looks the best.

Whoever said that was either mis-quoted, or just straight up lying. You can easily see a difference in the cowls. TDK-cowl looks more "blocky", and the nose is wider. The BB-cowl has more of an intimidating shape, and has more expression to it. Just look where the forehead/brows are on both cowls, and you can easily see a difference in shape, plus the noses are different(the BB nose looks longer). Also, the cheek areas look different.

In other words, TDK-cowl looks like Batman is about to sneeze, while the BB-cowl looks like he's pushing out a huge turd.

Omg he's so derpy in the TDK pic. The Begins pic is an example of the pics/shots that it looks good in. If he turned straight to us you'd see that its pear shaped and has impossibly huge rubber cheeks. That said Begins is closer to what i want than TDK.

At the end of the day if they want a good cowl and neck movement, why dont they use some CGI?

That's why I brought up GL for those who care about being able to see his eyes since you want to see him emote.

the flass interrogation is the most threatening I've seen batman looking on screen

I agree but that above still looks goofy. Which brings me to my point of how people should stop using movie stills to judge the quality of how something appears. The way things are shot on film are not meant to look good in freeze-frame they're meant to look good in motion.

And I don't have a problem with the BB-suit in motion either. He was able to run, grab people, jump down from high places, crouch down to talk, etc.

The only thing that needed improvement to the BB-suit, would be the neck area, and the shoulder areas....that's it. Oh, and maybe the clasps, even though I never minded them, I just know a lot of people did.

That's nonsense. Something can appear good (or bad for that matter) in both freeze-frame or in-motion, or may look good in freeze and bad in-motion and vice versa. There are no absolutes here. But if you insist... the TDK suit is one of those instances where it looked as bad in motion pics as is it does in stills.

For either mask, straighten the ears, make the mouth opening more masculine. Bang, its a good cowl.
