Filming in IMAX has been possibily the most revolutionary thing Nolan had done on these films. That element alone makes such a difference.
Yeah, that was definitely bad for CGI in this day and age. Not sure what WB were thinking.

Back on topic....erm *thinks of a TDKR relevant topic* when do the tdkr happy meals start?
EDIT: I'm not bothered with Avengers bashing (part of me quite likes it) but don't hate on Joss Whedon, that guy was the man for the longest time and I'm damn proud he's gone from "guy who got shafted with Firefly" to "guy who's gonna make a billion easy in hollywood" I just hope after all of this, someone is gonna give him creative freedom and some money so he can make the films he wants to make.
I'm a preteen of the 90's, all i did after school was watch Buffy and Angel.

Of course not. They'll both be game changers in their own unique and exciting ways. It's a real blessing we get both of these films in the same year. If TDKR ends up getting the praise (+ or -) Avengers is getting than the future of CBM's is looking very bright. You might be right, but then the marketing for this movie so far would have been misleading. It may very well be a game changer, but not in the same ways as BB, TDK or (possibly) TDKR.
I am:
Iron Man
Yeah... the first trailer indicated that a lot. Then they tried to essentially cover it up with the last two, but I got the sense they were trying to make a poor man's Iron Man and were trying to save face in those trailers by only showing the action-y stuff, which is why I waited to hear what the critics/fan reaction was.I am:

it was a bad design. trust me the same talented artist used the same software and thy workd for the same hours. the design has a big impact on how theCGI looks. its the same with prosthetics, miniatures. trust me.Yeah, that was definitely bad for CGI in this day and age. Not sure what WB were thinking.
And that's despite a massive budget of $200m. The quality of the CGI was embarrassing when you look at the budget. "Where did the money go?" Straight down the toilet.![]()
Oh god are people using game-changer as some new positive adjective without knowing the meaning of the word.
"Oh yeah it was epic...game-changing."
This isn't a slight on the possibly amazing Avengers, but what could possibly be so "game-changing" about it.
What exactly has he done that has never been done before?

The team-up aspect I guess, but wouldn't X-Men deserve credit for this in the first place?
Man, this is sounding like the horror genre all over againCBMs are doomed after 2012.
Face it, overexposure will kill them. There's going to come a day where every CBM coming out in the summer is a reboot.

Though I'm getting a bit worried with all the clips, it seems like in every scene there is some kind of wit and/or self-awareness, I hope they don't overdo it. I mean a movie like The Avengers obviously needs that stuff but there is always a risk of doing it too much or at the wrong places.

This isn't a slight on the possibly amazing Avengers, but what could possibly be so "game-changing" about it. It's a film about a group superheroes versus aliens, it's not rewriting the laws on comic book films is it? Or is there something insane that no one is telling us about?
Yeah, that's the thing. It's the franchise crossing over thing that is new... but multiple superheroes with different abilities/origins working as a team has been done before. The team-up aspect I guess, but wouldn't X-Men deserve credit for this in the first place?
