Already got my ticket for next week, I can't wait. I really wanted to be even more excited for this film during it's production, but there was so many Marvel vs DC stuff and make mine marvel bs, it's nearly ruined the film, because it's been antagonized for me, people make it feel like a competition, that i possibly cannot love and admire both the dark knight and the avengers, it's unfairly made me nearly despise the film on principle thanks to the select "fans" who ruin it.

Can't let them ruin the movie for you. From all indications, it should be a damn fun movie to see in a couple weeks. Looking forward to it.

Exactly. Heck, I generally want all comic films made to do well (unless I think they're bastardizing the characters horribly) because if the films do poorly it's bad for the genre. And I want comic films to keep getting made for a long time.

The novelization is being released the same day as the film - I pray, I pray the soundtrack is released the same day as well.

Nowadays, I walk out of a film, and buy the soundtrack ASAP.

The Inception soundtrack was available the same day, I hope this is too.

Re-reading The Dark Knight Returns. A few things that I think will be relevant to Rises....

- In the opening pages Bruce comes extremely close to dying in an explosion. A newscaster says something to the effect of "Bruce Wayne is dead......or so everyone thought!", revealing that he escaped with superficial injuries. I think this will be an influence on the climax of the film where Batman flies the Earthquake Machine out of Gotham.

- At the end of the GN, Bruce fakes his own death and continues training Robin and The Sons of The Batman underground. Bruce Wayne is dead, Batman lives on. It seems to me that The Nolans and Goyer may "invert" this ending and have Batman presumed dead at the end (Gothamites witness the machine and the Bat exploding at a safe distance, out at sea for example). This way, they would know that Batman saved them, he would become the symbol that he set out to be and Bruce Wayne can finally, after years of pain, live.

- Bane will probably share some of the Mutant Leader's characteristics.

- Finally, just a cool thing I noticed. Book 4 of the original run was titled "The Dark Knight Falls".

I would love an ending like that. It's a good way for Bruce to escape being Batman, and a way for Batman to be a legend in Gotham's eyes.

Yeah, riding a motorbike at speed during a race. Bruce is thinking during it : "Then straight into the sun. This would be a good death. But not good enough."

As I've posted before, I do think we will see The Bat fly the doomsday device out of Gotham, eject and then the device goes off.

I like Marvel and DC. I will go see Avengers,Spiderman and TDKR. Hopefully I will enjoy them all. But if you want to know my favorite I'd have to put Defendor up there near the top. A great story with a lot of heart. And a lot of people have never even heard of it.

Same here. I can't wait to see the avengers and the amazing spider-man, even if I prefer Batman. Also, Woody was awesome in Defendor.

yeah that is a very possible ending. but if everyone knows that Bruce is Bats then he would have to leave both his lives behind. oh and it's a race car not a bike that he crashes. I really hope they make those books into film next. I'm getting too old to wait around much longer.

Eh, I don't know..that seems like it'd be too much of a cop out to me personally. I think Bane has to push Bruce/Batman to the point where there is NO OTHER CHOICE but to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I think a much better ending will be to actually have Bruce dying, making the ultimate sacrifice for Gotham. Then the last shot of the film be the Batsignal going up against the Gotham skyline with a voice over from Gordon saying something to the extent of "He told me once we'd never have to thank him. But in truth, we could never thank him enough."

THAT, my friends, is how the legend should end.
