I think everyone should watch Warrior before TDKR. Just to get a sense of how intimidating Tom can be as Bane with just his eyes and body movement.

His delts are insane in that film. Am I wrong in thinking he actually shrank for Bane? Because if he's the same as he was in Warrior, we have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I believe he has more muscle in warrior, but more body mass overall as Bane. Well at his prime as Bane at least, I think he shrank quite quickly during filming.

That's why we call him a fat midget...all his fat and trickery.

The prologue I think did a good job of showing that Bane is this larger than life character. His presence was all encompassing in those six minutes.

I know physicality is an important aspect when it comes to Bane but I'm happy with the chunky muscle look he has in this movie. It feels very natural and believable.

I agree. Also I don't care what anyone says, that unusual voice added a whole new interest/dimension to the character for me IMO.

According to Tom, he weighs more for TDKR b/c he did a lot of eating to get himself bigger. It may not look it though. Chris wanted Bane to be more of a brawler than a cut athlete, which makes sense.

For Warrior he had to look like a really fit MMA fighter though so he had to train to put that muscle mass on.

He can fight (throat punch) and evade gunfire.
He has men at his disposal to do elaborate deeds.
He has men willing to die for him.
He is cool under pressure (doing the transfusion)
He succeeds at what he does.
He has more he wants to do yet.

Same here man. I for one loved the voice.

It really did top off the character quite nicely. Loved the accent and the overall intrigue behind the sound of his voice coming through the mask.

Exactly. A lot what said in a short amount of time and that really does take some fine crafting.

But TDKR has a different director, Cinematographer and costume designer than Warrior. Even if he had the same physique (he doesn't: more mass, less cut) it would be a moot point as he will be clothed, lit and directed differently.

True, but then the burden lies with them not Hardy himself. No one could say that Hardy isn't big enough, or he couldn't have the physical capability for the role.

Well, it worked for him because those Warrior gifs just reminded me how noticeably fit Hardy was compared to Bane, from what we've been able to see so far.

I'm more interested in the characterization of Bane's fighting skills and his physical strength and how Nolan has chosen to depict that side of him.

I can appreciate that too. But I gotta say. In the trailer, when Bane approaches Batman in bright daylight. Bats looks bigger then Bane... He could have looked a bit more hulky. But in the very end I don't really care. I know the movie will be beyond badass!
