I'm sad Nolan is done with his Batman... :csad:

I'm sad that in those final few moments we will be witnessing Christian Bale being Batman for the last time.

But yeah, their legacy will definitely live on and they can be proud of what they have acheived.

It's weird because it's something that feels premature whilst at the same time so right. The ending of Chris Nolan's Batman, that is. It reaching it's glory with the Dark Knight is something so fresh on the mind, and now the whole thing is already making it's final outing. But you can't fault the man because 3 films in is a good arc for a film franchise, and we all want this to end on a high note. It's gonna be sad though, definitely.

It's certainly bittersweet, sad b/c it's the end of the Nolan trilogy, but awesome b/c it's the finale of an epic batman trilogy (come a long way since B&R)

I said in NYC to the Ninjas that the only way this could get better is if in 20 years, when we're all older and settled, nolan comes back for a Dark Knight Returns style film and literally we'd be like Batman and come back into action, leaving our wives and children for months at a time to follow production for one last great, ninja adventure.

Now that would be truly EPIC! :cwink:

Like Eastwood and Freeman in "Unforgiven".

God that would be hilarious... and sadly probably quite accurate. :csad:

''Dad, will you help me with my homework?''

''GO AWAY... Chris Nolan is making another Batman film!!''

I see we've reached an understanding about the sadness to come. But I'm also glad that this is Nolan's last batmovie. Indeed, i'll be glad to see him move on more personal projects. Also, what makes Batman a legendary character, is the fact that a lot of artists worked to build his mythos. That's why I will gladly welcome the next creative team. It'll allow WB to make another batmovie, but with a different artistic take, which is great.

I'm a bit strange in that certain sad things actually make me happy. Being the last film in this series makes it all the more chill inducing and powerful because we know this is it, eg. seeing Bale and Oldman in their last scenes. TDKR is the lasting impression for the Nolanverse and how we'll ultimately remember it. It's sad that Bale and Nolan are still young and are absolutely capable of telling more Gotham stories - but it's also epic that they're putting all their energy into one last hurrah for the ages. They've done their job, 2005-2012, and it's going to be watched through the years, even when they're Adam West's age looking back at it all. As far as I am concerned, it's mission accomplished.

I agree, but if Adam West really doesn't make a cameo, this movie is so doomed.

Someday we'll be the Adam West-esque fans... telling the youngsters how it used to be done.

Uttering, ''Chris Nolan did it better... your just too young to know what quality really means... when I was 21, we has Bat-movies you could be proud of!!''

Not doomed, it will be just great. Jokes aside, I was literally without a breath when TDK ended, and I fail to imagine my emotional state once the screen goes black and "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" appears.

When the movie ended, I just was overwhelmed. It was a graphic novel come to life. The last scene with Dent and the family hit me for six. I might need a nurse on standby for TDKR.

Exactly. I remember my second viewing, I brought my girl along, and she turned to me and she said "I've nothing to say. It's that great".

I definitely should, as she's really waiting for TDKR. She can't wait to see Bane breaking Bats, and the trailer really pumped her for good.

She needs the trailer to do that, eh? sorry lol. :funny:

Well said!

I'm both happy and sad about the whole thing. Just thinking about it - I'm [probably] never going to see this cast assemble as those characters on screen again... That makes me feel really, really sad.

But! There's something else - seeing my two favorite actors against each other in a Batman film, directed by Christopher Nolan, scored by Hans Zimmer... Maaan!

It's bittersweet but I'm also equally excited to see a new take on Batman and Nolan, Bale, etc. do other things after this.

Why is 3 always the magic number for movies? Sometimes I wonder if Nolan could've made it a 4 movie arc. Have another one right now and then save TDKR's story for the 4th.

Yeah. For example it's 100 years since the Titanic went down, and I think how grand the ship was. It was already famous at the time but the fact it sank made it legendary, because it captures the imagination. It's hard to forget. What I mean is - if good things lasted forever would be appreciate how precious they are?
