Do we even know it's a bomb? Is that confirmed?

Its gonna be kinda interesting watching a batman movie end without a shot of Batman.

The sound of burning fire and barking dogs superseding Lau's cries tells me it was designed to be subtle and something you catch on repeat viewings.

And to keep the PG-13 rating.

My eyes! :barf:

So this rating thing is official right?

It most likely is, but I'm still going to take it with a grain of salt until about June when we know the film is completely finished being edited. If the rating is identical then, no big deal, but I'm not 100% convinced it's already been rated.

Exactly. I think that was done purposefully because even with the camera cut, you really don't realize someone's on the top of the pile with the Joker, let alone the fact that its Lau.

You really have to pay close attention to catch those details.

Batman Returns ended without a shot of Batman.

I expect a ending shot very similar to this for TDKR

Yes. Most movie scores can't be put into a certain period of time, because it's mainly orchestrated/classical music. If you listen to Elfman's B89 score, it can still work in most movies if you fit it properly. But if you put in a 80's pop song in a new movie from 2012, then yes, it'll feel out of place.

I don't see how this is so hard to comprehend?

It's interesting because as I'm reading this comment, I'm watching Dr.No on my TV, and I was just thinking that James Bond's theme from back in the 60s is still used for recent movies with minimal, I mean MINIMAL changes. Everything else in this film looks outdated, but the theme... It's still the same nowadays. :woot:

A shot of Anne looking over a derelict Gotham... the Batsignal in the sky... and Alfred/Gordon/Ra's (talkin about being a legend... bringing it full circle :oldrazz:) doing their speech thing.

??

Bruce having made the ultimate sacrifice... yada yada yada.

I can't ever look at the shot the same without knowing that's not actually Michelle Pfeiffer but a robot dummy.

Either way, I hopeful we see another Batman shot at the end of TDKR.

FWIW, IMDb's full cast list has been updated in the past four days. I keep tabs on it by copying the web page to my computer and then compare the two just to see what turns up on it. They could be edited by one their mentally insane forum members, or they could be edited by the actors or their agents and reps! Let's see what's new:

Glen Powell ... Brian Robinson
Massi Furlan ... Janitor NYSE
Michael Gucciardo ... Wayne Enterprise Broker
Ty Kunzelman ... Orphan Boy

I haven't been around the past couple of days to see if anyone else already noted this.

I was thinking in terms of the nolan trilogy.

We usually got some heroic shot of Batman moving into action, but this time, I think we're getting something more...personal.

I don't think it's a robot, it's a double for Pfieffer who couldn't do the shot.

It's not easy though.

Catwoman or anyone can shoot Bane at any part of this film. He's not superman. Getting to that point though has been difficult and nearly impossible as his superior planning, cunning and intelligence hasn't afford anyone the chance to just shoot him.

After a battle of brawn Batman comes out the victor but even THEN Bane has the advantage as he reveals the device is still out there, armed and primed to blow Gotham into nothingness and since Pavel is dead only he is capable of shutting it down, so Batman NEEDS him and if Batman wishes to save Gotham it means he has to hand Bane something that Batman can't afford...

And just then, when Batman is at the mercy of Bane again, Catwoman blows the mask off his face with his jaw and Batman is lost. How is he going to stop the bomb.

In that moment of his death. By someone Batman trusted no less, Bane has an advantage and dare we say 'won' over Batman.

Chaos ensues the remaining mercs try to make a push back against Batman since Bane is now dead and just as they do the tumbler outside takes off. It someone how becomes apparent the bomb is on the HMTT truck (with Gordon hanging on trying to disarm it) and Catwoman retreats on the Batpod to apprehend it.

Batman deals with the rest of the Mercs and gets into the Bat and flies off to chase Catwoman/Tumblers/HEMTT.

Talia leaves city hall before the cops retake it.

Wow, feels like I just read the ending

But we know Talia is stopped (I think), and Catwoman is running towards the truck; Catwoman/Batman hug, then what? Is there another bomb?

Or... just snowballing here...

Bruce has made the ultimate sacrifice (draw your own conclusions)... and the final shots of the film are the Bat-signal in the sky, over a saved but derelict Gotham.

And we hear Bruce in voiceover mode...''People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed but as a symbol... as a symbol I can incorruptable... I can be everlasting...''

Something along those lines.

Well, that would be appropriately heavy handed. Like a hammer to the scrotum.

Maybe the Batsignal showing above Gotham can put real focus on the "Rises" part of the title. Oddly enough, I don't have a problem with the movie ending without a shot of Batman.

I love that last scene in Batman Returns. Im not a fan of the movie at all, but that last scene was perfect imo.

Yeah I assumed she was standing on a building.
