I have three flights between now and the time I see the movie. One is tomorrow, another on Monday, and then one on Friday the 20th. Ironically I'm flying on the 20th because I want to see the film in IMAX first instead of a regular theater. You never know when your time is up.
Your flying to see the film in IMAX!?! now thats dedication! safe travels my friend

Thanks. Yes, flying to Houston since my parents and sister live there. My sister is a big fan of BB and Nolan in general, so she is going with me to see it in IMAX. The nearest real IMAX screens to me are a 5 hour drive away, so it's easier for me to just fly over to Houston where I can hang out with my family.

:sus Point taken, your right. Even at the end of the day; We are in this together, then 7 years have been gone. Knowing this movie is RISING. The Batman fans have to come back. We Must, we must for the sake of TDKR and Nolan's mission to finish Burce's epic story and hia journey of becoming a legend. :batty:

So lets end this insanity and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!:woot::up:

I kinda love how amped up you are, since I too have waited my whole life as a batfan for this serious and dark Batman film trilogy, but sometimes your posts are so crazy that I fear you are in reality a living, breathing spoof on us Batman fans and Nolanites. :woot:

TDKR will be my first REAL IMAX experience. When I went to see Prometheus in IMAX I found out later that it was IMAX digital, so right away I found out where the nearest REAL IMAX theater is. There's a few in Boston than there is one in Providence. I'm currently living outside of Boston for the summer so I will be going to Providence RI IMAX because it's closer to my current location.

I really cannot wait to see just how much better Real IMAX is compared to digital. I bet I'm gonna be blown away. I can't believe they don't advertise digital as digital either... rip off.

Jeez 5 hours I feel blessed that I got a real IMAX 20 minutes away that I just found out about, I thought I was gonna have to drive to downtown Chicago but even then it would have only been 30 minutes away. Its crazy how far away people have to drive to get to a real IMAX theater.

The admiration quickly turns to annoyance.

I am not long back from Munich. I'm generally a fine flyer, apart from take off, but I am still here in one piece. :yay:

Flying is always okay though. I am sure you will be grand. Hope your travels are safe regardless!

I'd be more worried about driving than going on a flight to be honest. Anyway it's good that we're off to a good start with reactions.

Is an Real IMAX even more than twice the size of digital?

Depends on how you're measuring, but in terms of 'resolution', yes, if you base 4K digital as being somewhere in the comparable area of Super 35...whereas a frame of true IMAX is three 65mm frames at once.

Thanks. I appreciate the well wishes. Luckily these flights aren't too long, only around an hour. The most nervous I've ever been was flying from Houston to Paris. Holy hell, that is a long flight and the whole time I couldn't help but think we were 30,000 feet above a deep ocean.

Statistically speaking, you're right. But driving gives us the illusion of control even when we really don't have it at all. It is a scary concept being packed into a sardine can 30,000 feet above the ground and then being subjected to the quality of the airplane as well as someone else's ability to fly the plane. On Sunday I'll be in a car for 4 hours with my parents and sister. Stats say the odds are much stronger of something happening at that point than on my flight Friday or Monday, but it sure doesn't feel that way.

Yep. I know. Hopefully this con will translate to a 200 mill OW for TDKR.

What is the IMAX like in your city ? Exterior ? I love the design of them !

Because they can, and because people pay it. When all you're really getting in 'IMAX Digital' is a little larger digital projection (with two 2K projectors stacking their images, as opposed to one 4K projector for 'regular' theaters) than normal.

Thats why Im glad I did my research/slash talked to the people on here and found out how to find a real IMAX. Ive seen a movie in LieMax before and its just a little bigger than a regular screen but costs more.

A bit off topic, but which IMAX are you going to, I also live in the Chicago area, so I'm just a bit curious.

The LieMAX scam is a classic case of "what they don't know won't hurt them." For anyone who has been in a real IMAX theater, the difference would be obvious. But for anyone who has never been in a real IMAX theater, a LieMAX would seem like a pretty nice improvement over a regular screen.

I'm just glad my Liemax experiences happened with Prometheus and not TDKR.

Yupp. That's exactly what it was like for me. I had a feeling something was up because I wasn't totally amazed I was just like oh cool this is a nice bigger than usual screen. I found at the next day what I really went too.
