Some of her quotes -

However, it lacks astounding, stunning characters such as the Joker, played by Heath Ledger. It is hard to exceed what TDK has archived. The villiain pales in comparison. There is hardly any expressions seen, just a bunch of muscules punching and mumbling.

Nolan tried very hard to make this less a popcorn movie but a serious crime movie. But the villain is not particularly attractive and the fighting is monotonous.

But I don't feel such groundbreaking feeling with TDKR. It may be because the performance of Ledger and the tragic atmosphere brought by his death is not here anymore.

But what Nolan cant bring back is the classic Heath Ledger.

The fans of Tom Hardy please don't rage, I feel sorry for him. His dialoge are with noises and sometimes unclear. The Bane character is not addressed too much. Without sufficient background and foreshadowing it's hard for the audicence to connect with him. I do not intend to compare him with the Joker, but a movie pales without a great villiain.

Man get over The Joker

The GA adored the Joker like they adored the Hulk. He was charming. The thing was that he had performance, great presence, writing, humour, menace AND on-screen charm. You can't get that with Bane, and whilst Catwoman could have the charm, she's not a villainous enough addition to be the whole package so to speak. It can surpass TDK imo, the difference will be that you can't just summarise all the benefits of the film into one performance like people did there.

Exactly. Joker is hard to top, but I can see a lot of people siding with Bane tbh. Especially if all the stuff about putting poor & rich people on the same level is true. Hell I might support Bane if thats true :funny:

Well, it is a translated review ,
I always cut those some slack

It's much more positive in its native tongue...and they're also not a very happy race. :oldrazz:

Who's quotes are these??

It was from a chinese critic who saw the film last night.

Would you agree with any of them?

Also this woman said there was barely any reaction, yet a Brazillian critic said it had a standing ovation... and they both went to the same screening.

Her review is quite negative but still gives it a B+

Her whole review is over in the non discussion reaction/review thread.

That review is ridiculous.

Were they expecting Bane to perform "magic tricks" and dress up like a nurse?

Nice One .
Seriously ,I dont always assume that the the translation is 100% accurate.
It never sounds like the way people really talk .

I'm all fine with negative/mediocre reviews but come on at least have some kind of decent argument and not being completely bias.

He is a also a very **** critic. IMO anyone who details major spoilers (which the Chinese one does) is a crap critic.

Good points. One of the things Bane has the advantage of, really, is being a different kind of villain than the Joker. They both want destruction, but the Joker, like you said, had "charm" (for lack of a better term) whereas Bane is just cold and calculated. I'd much rather have that than two different villains acting the exact same way, just the one in the later movie is even more over-the-top, especially if it's not true to the character.

You guys are aware that this film is going to get actual negative reviews, right? No need to get worked up over a B+ (regardless of how negative the review reads).

To put it more bluntly: some critics will hate this film. It's both normal and inevitable. You need to get over it now and save yourselves the headache.

Eh, if that's how the reviewer feels that's how she feels. Some will miss the Joker.

Blasphemy!!

I thought the Brazilian critic said there was applause at the end, but not a standing ovation.
