Get over yourself, I love how people such as yourself claim that people can have opinions on hating a film or so forth it's okay. But the second someone compares it to an older film the snobs get defensive and say that can't be, it's impossible. You do know that there are some out there that hate Godfather, (I'm not one of them I own every form of those two films and love them a lot) And no film is flawless.

I love you claim crap about hyperbolic and that is ALL you are being about Godfather Part 2. Please, look in the mirror.
:applaud

Well said, sir.

I've been thinking about Godfather II in relation to TDKR ever since Young Ra's was cast. It felt similar to the paralleling of Vito and Michael Corleone's stories via flashbacks to the former.

I remember when you mentioned that. It was a very interesting piece of speculation on that dynamic, right or wrong.

How are the godfather/2 comparisons working out for TDK?

How about the brilliant assertion by Peter Traverse that Bale in TDK was as good as Pacino was in Godfather 2?

And why don't you get over yourself; cautioning people to not compare new films to classics is hardly irrational or hateful. Lest you prefer to have premature comparisons bite you in the ass a few years later.

I second this.

Where are C. Lee and Hunter Rider? The stuff that's going down at The Review thread is borderline insane.
We're not omniscient. Report and write up a long enough summary of the issue/person and it will be dealt with appropriately.

The clutter is so intense and has been perpetuated by others so much that it's become almost impossible to moderate and properly untangle that mess.

It's not hateful, but don't tell people what to do if you're doing it yourself.

Some people (like me) very much like TGF II, others will think it's boring or whatever. Will you curse them?

I put this in the same "position" as people who claim that you should never watch movies made after the seventies or so, because it's all dead now. Sure, there have been too many remakes, 3D crapfests & sequels, but once in a while I'm still amazed by Hollywood.

And for some "connaisseurs" it's sacrilege to like these kind of movies AND TGF.

Sorry if it's already been requested, but I've been trying to stay out of here.

Anyone have a download link for the featurette?

I did report it last night, but perhaps that's the issue. Maybe the mess is too large to clean up in a matter of hours. It's more than just one poster posting R2's 'spoilers' and claiming them as the truth.

Not endorsing a film that has yet to come out to be compared to one of the greatest films ever made is hateful?

I mean, I shouldn't be surprised considering where I am if that constitutes hate.

I didn't know things were so bad in the Review thread and I still don't have the full picture of how it is, can someone help me out? All I know is that there are a lot of newbies there.

You guys are aware that this film is going to get actual negative reviews, right? No need to get worked up over a B+ (regardless of how negative the review reads).

To put it more bluntly: some critics will hate this film. It's both normal and inevitable. You need to get over it now and save yourselves the headache.

Everyone knows that already. you know what everytime anyone discusses an negative comment you always seem to come back and snake your way into this thread to make a "Now guys...you do Know" comment. I see it come from you every damn time we discuss negative comments. Stop It. Everyone is well aware of that were not idiots BOOM. No one is freaking out were just discussing and stating the obvious about the critic. The critic is bias towards the Joker she made about 7 comments about that and it could not have been more obvious. And all anyone is saying is your a critic your job is to review a film in its own right leaving out garbage such as bias. And for some reason EVERY negative comment she had on the film seemed to link back to "Heath ledger or Joker" being her fav which didnt make any sense. So basically her negative comments do not have any validity because frankly they are probably not negatives at all just her bias in play. But hey everyone has right to review the film in their own way and if she is representing herself as a critic and she thinks what she wrote there in that article is professional worthy than by all means she wrote it she will stick by it. That is all were saying is that if you have negative comments (which no one has a problem of seeing) than you need to have valid reasons o back up why they were negative to you and not be replying with bias to the joker. :word:

I'm still very interested in seeing how Young Ra's fits into the overall picture, but now I'm pretty sure he'll have more of a connection with Bane.

Its actually entertaining. Now you know why the batman boards get such a bad reputation. The funny part is most of the comments are from people who just joined, so its really an unfair representation.

I don't know why theshape and scoop are answering questions, although very great of them, its pointless because people want the plot spoiled for them.

I mean some of the questions being asked are ridiculous. Questions like "How much screen time did this person have, how long was the final fight scene, how did you feel about this that or the other." You would think those guys brought a note pad and a timer to answer those silly questions.

I see Rogue beat me to it. Yes, I uploaded it in 720p and posted it in the video thread for all to download. Kane also has an alternate link over there from another site. :)

I'm starting more and more to think the rumors going around now about the ending are accurate, and while it may sound like not the most amazing ending on paper, it is how it comes across on film that really matters and reviews have particularly praised the ending sequences thus far.

Also, even on paper I like this ending more than some of the speculations as
I don't want Bruce to die, so I didn't like then idea of him sacrificing himself, and if Nolan did decide to include Catwoman because he wanted a "definitive Batman mythos" I feel some nod to Robin must be inlcuded, and the line with Blake's middle name would be a way to work the character into Nolan's universe without disrupting the story too much.

Let's just say there's new posters that came out of nowhere proclaiming R2's 'spoilers' are true and Scoop and Shape are 'lying' to us.

I think the TDK/Godfather 2 comparisons are fine, I for one agree with them. There is a difference between cautioning, and the attitude you always use, which is usually condescending.

The people that have seen it, felt giving those comparisons and that is their opinion. Just like you have yours.

Bale, Gary, and Michael look so precious! :hrt:

Anne and Joe have their own world. :hehe:

This is a good idea. Thanks for that minor Gordon info btw, it's relieved me somewhat.

No prob. I think at this point, people are worried about too much and I'm not sure why. It's a 2 hour 45 minute film. There's a lot of good **** in there.
