Reminder: Tonight on TNT during Falling Skies there will be a Sneak Peak of TDKR.
Wonder if it's a clip. Wonder if I'll be able to resist the urge to not watch it. Probably not.

BTW, love Cotillard in your avy. MILF of the year.

Good thing said "one of the greatest". And Godfather Part 2's status is the general consensus. The deniers are a pathetic few.

TDK's status is also a general consensus.

Yet you haven't seen the third one yet. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Did you completely miss the part where I said - IF TDKR IS AS IT LOOKS

An opinion is an opinion. If TDKR is great then indeed it will be a "better" trilogy in terms of relative quality film to film. If comparing individual films however, I think you'll run into more than a few jolts of reasoners.

So why exactly can't these films be compared? The way you are talking about it no film can compare with The Godfather.

They were compared. As I've pointed out in my first post. And now the same comparisons will be laughed at (outside of this little board.)

An argument I didn't make

It'll probably just be the featurette or another recut of it.

I'm on a phone and it's hard to post. Do we have confirm that R2D2 was fake?

I bet it's stuff we've already seen. I'll just wait for it to be on youtube. I don't watch that show even though I love sci fi. I saw like the first 2 episodes and that was enough.

I'm pretty sure theshape posted this smiley :barf: at one of R2's supposed spoilers so take this as you will.

All I've done is to caution people not to prematurely compare a new film (no matter how great) to a classic. I used it's predecessor, TDK, as an example of premature comparisons. I don't understand what is so hard to get. Especially since I've repeated this many times.

TDK's status is also a general consensus.
Great? When did I say otherwise? It's considered to be one of the best superhero films. It, however, hasn't accumulated praise that the Godfather got. Four years in, and the critical consensus is static. Nobody is claiming it to be the masterwork that the GOdfather was like a few of the early reviews did. It is simply a great superhero flick. In that light, I made my first post as a caveat to not repeat the same mistakes. I guess I didn't realize I dropped a napalm to a hornet's nest though. I thought my post was harmless.

I'm gonna expect it to be the featurette tonight, so I won't be disappointed.

TDK's praise was also inflated a bit much early after its release. Some critics struck it down as derivitive, though I still do not see what the film derives from Seven in particular.

Excelsior No film is PERFECT like you claimed Godfather 2 is. Nor is there any Near Perfect. There are only Classics. Classics are not perfect films just movies that audiences will remember and praise for decades & Generations. The Godfather 1 & 2, The Dark Knight Trilogy, JAWS, Metropolis, Heat, Goodfellas, Star Wars Original Trilogy, Alien, Aliens, The Lord of the rings trilogy, Jurassic Park, Inception, The Shawshank Redemption, Memento, The Prestige, The Shining, 2001, etc.....I would Consider many films classics that will be remembered for decades/generations.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with comparing TDK to the Godfather 2.

I'm guessing the sneak peek tonight during Falling Skies is from the featurette.

Nolan's face here... :funny:

Would they really have a 14 minute featurette with a TV show? I kinda doubt it. What time does this show air?

They could show a shorter version like Dew did. I kinda don't want them to release a clip.

By the way, I double checked the shot of Alfred with the green shake in the TV Featurette, it is definitely new. There are major differences in the shot from Begins, including but not limited to:

1. Caine's hair is thinner and shorter and he has more pronounced old man jaw.

2. Alfred's tie is tied with a dimple in the new still and without one in Begins.

3. The tray in the new still a coffee/tea set and a covered dinnerplate, whereas, in Begins, it was just a shake and the newspaper.

4. The walls behind Alfred are a lot lighter in colour in comparison to Bruce's bedroom in Begins.

Yep, it seems we get a new scene of Alfred bringing Bruce his shake.

9PM EST. TNT is also showing the Bourne Trilogy now and will show something from Legacy.

I want that score to leak now please.
