I think the TDK/Godfather 2 comparisons are fine, I for one agree with them. There is a difference between cautioning, and the attitude you always use, which is usually condescending.

The people that have seen it, felt giving those comparisons and that is their opinion. Just like you have yours.

I mean, I shouldn't be surprised considering where I am if that constitutes hate.

But being the "greatest film ever made" is completely down to opinion. I myself would rate Nolan's trilogy higher than the Godfather trilogy if TDKR is as good as it looks. Am I wrong?

The Godfather 2 is very good yes but also has its flaws. Just like TDK why can't they be compared? Your argument is beyond stupid.

TDK is still very fresh 4 years later. Still being hailed as the king of comic book movies with one of the greatest modern movie villains, with a layered tragic story which has been constantly praised for advancing the possibilities of a comic book film. And also managed to pretty much single handedly change a category at the oscars. Why oh why can it not be compared.

You might not, some will, because to those people that film may resonate for life with them. A proven classic is still subjective to who's saying it.

Good thing said "one of the greatest". And Godfather Part 2's status is the general consensus. The deniers are a pathetic few.

An opinion is an opinion. If TDKR is great then indeed it will be a "better" trilogy in terms of relative quality film to film. If comparing individual films however, I think you'll run into more than a few jolts of reasoners.

They were compared. As I've pointed out in my first post. And now the same comparisons will be laughed at (outside of this little board.) Hence my plea to not repeat the same mistakes.
