Because I can't say a single word. Everything about the film -- even to the cast and crew -- is so secretive that my friend was barely able to tell me he was working on it. It's almost like everyone is blindfolded when filming and must instantly forget what is shot that day.
depends where your friend if working.

still cant figure out what he hell that chant is

If you listen to the sample chant as it progresses it sounds less like the first words used and entirely like Bane, Bane, matalo, matalo. I'm still holding out what it is. They did write this which makes me hopeful it still is.

There is no such thing as out-of-tune, no timing we can't fix later. If you mumble, growl, scream or whisper, it's all good. Make it yours. If you only get halfway through, no problem! Do it alone, bring your friends, but do it with energy and commitment.

- Hans Zimmer

They're going to compile all the entries and turn it into whatever word/phrase they want.

Has anyone found out if the two words used are from an existing language or just made up for this chant. I still hear the spanish towards the end though as it sounds entirely different from the beginning.

I think, from what we've heard of his voice so far, the singular voice that starts the chant out could be Bane's.

I knew it was a part of the score! :D

That's not Tom's voice though.

Also, what the hell... We still don't know a damn thing abut it after its slowed down :funny:

The soundtrack interaction Zimmer and co are doing is great. Presuming this chanting is to do with Bane, it sounds awesome, and I'm already starting to get chills by just thinking of this going hand in hand with Bane throughout the film!

Lol, it sounds like "Dishy, dishy, Basera! Basera!" Whatever the heck that means? :hehe:

Who knows, but I think you're closer than 'Bane, Bane, Matalo' :cwink:

Dyshi is Russian for Breathe, could be nothing...

Thank god we can put that Bane Matalo thing to rest.

Courtesy of DigitalKill from 'The Score' thread, the website says the chant is actually "Deh-Shay Bah-Sah-Rah".

So, I presume this chant will be orientated for Bane and the LOS (Presuming they are involved, of course :cwink:).

So they are nonsensical Latin chants that grace so many Hollywood scores?

Someone needs to get that on a downloadable MP3 file.

when you participate there.. are you supposed to do a variation of exact that example or something else / different ?
*edit* just read an info.. it must be the same thing

They said it doesn't matter because they're going to rework it later in post.

Well who knows, but for example i know John Williams picked words in Sanskrit to incorporate into his "Duel of the Fates" theme and if i remember right also for his "Qui-Gon's funeral" piece in TPM.

They might just pick words in different languages that fit with the emotion they want to convey. I do hope Zimmer does eventually give a bi of info regarding this score once it comes out :yay:

Well I submitted mine, I think my neighbors probably believe I'm part of some kind of cult and won't talk to me anymore.
