I could not agree with you more, Burton shot Batman beautifully. Batman belongs in shadows, in darkness. The way he is in 99% of comics, but the comics aspect gets dismissed too easily. Batman is a comic character and sadly Nolan sometimes seems a little embarassed by that, or thats how it feels, i say that loving the Nolan films, i just grew up with Burtons, so they'll always be in many ways the benchmark for me.

Thing is, Nolan has done things that are in the comics, they just appear more rarely. The TDK Bat-bunker for example. Now, daylight. I hate to get into another Burton vs Nolan thing, so I'll just leave it at that.

Oh, and had Nolan been embarrassed, he wouldn't have included silly jokes and lines, which are STRAIGHT out of the comics, in terms of tone.

I do, but I understand what Nolans trying to do and I don't really have a problem with it. However if I had to pick, I would never, ever have Batman be seen in daylight or full lighting, something Burton was extremely good at. Burton just knew how to shoot iconic Batman, Nolan hasn't done that...yet.
Nolan had most of his "iconic" Batman scenes in BB.

The Begins suit isn't as ugly as the TDK suit, and looks insanely better under full light. He also wasn't outdoors in the sun surrouded by tons of people, he was inside, alone with Gordon.

i don't think things are awesome before I see them, I think that the things I have seen are awesome.

Yeah i know, For me the first comics i read were Killing joke, still my all time favorite and it tied really well into Burton's Batman. So for my first encounters of batman they set the bar for me. I know they have there flaws, but its like a old friend now, i love Batman 1989 for its flaws too.

But yeah, i don't want to get into a Nolan versus Burton, i love both. just as i love Nicholson and Ledger, there's no need to pick, for me they are both amazing.

I hate to bring up 911 but that happened at 9am . If Batman was real , you think he would be off the clock during the threat of a terrorist act...

I am sorry , you can hate the Catwoman outfit, Bane's voice etccc , but this no day light rule is so godamn ludicrious that you should not even bother seeing the movie because if that bothers you there ain't any hope

Really? You think TKJ ties well with Burton's Batman? Honest question.

Honestly...the 'embarrassment' lies in the comic fan who feels that their beloved hobby isn't being celebrated enough in one of these films. And that ultimately isn't the film's or filmmaker's responsibility.

there is the difference between a respectable poster like Yurka and an like the Dragonator.

Because he likes doesn't mind it as much as I do that makes him more respectable?

By that logic, you're an ******* because you don't share my opinion. See how that logic does not make sense?

I love Nolan better, its definitely the new bench mark for me. Burton and BTAS got me into the character so sure there is a lot of love there, but there's no denying the fact that Nolan's films have done a great service and love to the character.

*Sigh*

I guess I'll go fetch a mod.

People here seem to think that because I don't think everything that I see will look better and makes sense later that I'm biased and annoying.

I do in the respect i can see where Burton drew inspiration. aside from that no, the characters are very different, Gordon not being a very evolved character in the film and a less sadistic Joker in the film.

Then why don't people have problems with Yurka, Travesty or regwec?

No, because he's able to look past his own wants and acknowledge that its not the no-all be-all of everything. He doesn't like the idea of Batman in the light but at the same time he's not going to mention over and over and over and over how it has no chance in working.

By that logic, you're an ******* because you don't share my opinion. See how that logic does not make sense?

You use the word logic a lot and yet to this moment I'm not convinced you ever really grasp what people are saying.

Because I don't need to think everything in TDKR is going to be good based off first appearances.

Fine but you complaining about the no day light Batman is so absurd that I don't even consider it an opinion but trolling . If Batman only showed up at night what happens when criminals figure that out ? Or should Batman be off the clock if Gotham had a 9/11 in the film ....

Nevermind the fact that Batman has been in the daylight in comics past tv shows . So it ain't even a silly idiotic rule that Nolan is breaking

nah, you're annoying because you never have anything to back up what you say other than the false idea that your personal taste is how these films need to be shaped. You have no idea of objectivity and when your point is made you constantly feel the need to tell people again and again and again and again how you dislike something.

That qualifies as annoying.

Nolan certainly loves Batman. That much is clear to me.

I like seeing Batman in daylight (if it has to happen). Batman has said he is "whatever Gotham needs him to be." Showing up in broad daylight to save the day doesn't seem like such an stretch for Batman.

Are you refering to the 60's show? I dont recall him ever being in daylight in Tas. that said there was seldom daylight in Tas.

He's been seen during the day in TAS. Not often, but there were. Just like in the Nolan trilogy, he'll be out during the day in just one scene: The one we're talking about.
