I do in the respect i can see where Burton drew inspiration. aside from that no, the characters are very different, Gordon not being a very evolved character in the film and a less sadistic Joker in the film.

Ok, fair enough.:yay:

No, because he's able to look past his own wants and acknowledge that the no-all be-all of everything. He doesn't like the idea of in the light but at the same time he's not going to mention over and over and over and over how it has no chance in working.

That's because he doesn't mind it as much as I do.

You people are always so angry when I express an opinion differently from yours. I don't rejoice overtly at the trailer, instead saying that it's just pretty nice, which I thought it was, you call me a buzzkill and tell me to leave.

I hate to bring up 911 but that happened at 9am . If Batman was real , you think he would be off the clock during the threat of a terrorist act...
9/11 actually happened in real life, and was executed by real terrorists. Bane isn't real, neither is Gotham or Batman. It shouldn't matter what happens in real life, cause these movies are fictional.

I am sorry , you can hate the Catwoman outfit, Bane's voice etccc , but this no day light rule is so godamn ludicrious that you should not even bother seeing the movie because if that bothers you there ain't any hope
I don't find it that ridiculous. It's just the kind of atmosphere that certain people like to see their favorite characters in.

Is it ridiculous that Star Wars fans get mad at all the new implementations of the original trilogy? People get picky over these things, cause it's what they grew up with, and how they see the character. I see Batman working only in the night, just as someone doesn't want to hear Vader scream "noooooo" at the end of ROTJ.

*I know that's not the best analogy, but it's the only extremely picky nerd example I could come up with at the moment.

Are you refering to the 60's show? I dont recall him ever being in daylight in Tas. that said there was seldom daylight in Tas.

Yes he was in the daylight from the 60's show . I can't recall anything from TAS

Why'd you take out Clash of the Titans out of my quote?

It's my stupid-ass browser. It'll sometimes take out random words out of quotes. I've been thinking of installing a different one, but all the rest are too slow for me.

Nolan certainly loves Batman. That much is clear to me.

I like seeing Batman in daylight (if it has to happen). Batman has said he is "whatever Gotham needs him to be." Showing up in broad daylight to save the day doesn't seem like such an stretch for Batman.

That's a nice way of looking at it. So now Gotham needs him to fight by their side out in the open - in daylight. It's like Batman is redefining himself after recovering from his beatdown at the hands of Bane.

Now, after training physically and psychologically, Batman is fully confident and ready to fight at all times, no matter when. He'll do whatever it takes to protect Gotham. It will also help the citizens look at him in a new light - accepting him as their saviour. The man - the legend - who shook them out of apathy.

.

So No crimes take place during the day in Gotham now ... ? Of course it matters if Nolan is trying to make it more realistic crimes happen during the day .

The no day light rule is so incredibly stupid . It makes the bad guys look like morons also .

has nothing to do with the level of dislike. It has to do with thinking straight and being objective with your views instead of treating your opinions as certain fact.

Maybe you should take heed that people get angry when you show up in a thread. Its not a bunch of people just set out to hate you. You're doing something and a lot of people wish you'd stop.
You don't have to like TDKR's trailer.

I HATE the teaser and I made it known but I approached it in a way with reasonable objectivity while maintaining my opinion. You're either unable to (which I don't believe) or unwilling to, which I think is the case. I think you enjoy prodding the batboards and then Pretending as if something is wrong with us.

I don't like Batman in daylight for the same reason I didn't like that the Green Lantern movie only spent 20 minutes at most in outer space. The character is way out of the environment he works best in. I wouldn't like a Captain America movie in space, or a Thor movie set in France. I wouldn't like a Spider-Man movie in the desert, either.

Is there a problem with thinking it's stupid to take a character out of his natural environment?

I think there were a few from the 'World's Finest' 3-parter, and we've probably seen quite a few in the JL stuff...albeit all in combination with daytime heroes.

It's not like he's a vampire, though..."Nooooo...the liiigghhhttt...!!" :D

I do tend to agree with dragonator, batman is a creature of the night, he belongs in the night.

That said if its something pretty important i can't imagine bruce sat there saying 'i'll be there, just give it a few hours, be dark soon' He's dedicated to the cause, Nolan's Batman is grounded in reality and in reality, Bruce would don the suit at any time of day.

It'd just be better if bane decided to strike at night, that Joker fellow had the right idea ;)

I think a proper analogy for batman judging from the other ones you mentioned would be batman spending his time in metropolis or something in that vein. We're talking about time of day here, not a completely different environment, man.

When you haven't seen, heard, experienced the context...

Yes.

I understand what you're saying. I don't care for the idea of Bane in general but, I suspended my biases, waited and was pleasantly surprised. I did not write it off as a failure based on nothing.

Yeah, not really the most accurate portrayal of batman.

It doesn't matter. This is Nolan's interpretation. If Gotham is being destroyed at 9am, then Bats better hop into his Bat undies/armor and Tumbler, and defend the city.

I was actually fairly disappointed with Bane and Catwoman at first, but then I realized that he's a pretty great villain to end the trilogy with.

About Batman in daylight:

If he can do it in comics like Batman Inc., why is it an issue here?
