In ten more minutes... Merry X-mas from Arizona. It's 11:50pm and an ice cold 45 degrees here.

Anyway, back to Bane. Joker was a sick mind, hell bent on nothing more than chaos and upsetting the order.

Bane, on the other hand, is a threat in so many more ways. He's calculating, he's HUGE, he's patient, has a sense of humor, and from what I can tell he has a plan not only well thought, but with and end-game no matter what may happen. The Joker had henchmen but they were all certifiable. Bane's henchmen seem like, for lack of better term, dedicated jihadists ready to lay down their lives at the wave of his hand. And to me personally... That is f**king TERRIFYING.

The joker was a grenade thrown Batty's way, but Bane is an I.E.D. buried in the road the batpod drives down every morning.

(Please forgive me for using an iraq/afghani insurgent terms... I apologize if it offended anyone.)

New to the board but.....i have a friend whos boyfriend worked on one of the final scenes where bruce supposedly dies. He works as a sound guy. One thing that he mentioned he saw that I did not read was that at the end of the movie a statue is revealed either of bruce wayne or batman. He has a million stories but that was the one detail he through at me that I had not seen mentioned.

You forgot the part where it cuts to the prison fight scene and then Bruce is thrown into his cell and out of the shadows comes Leo DiCaprio sporting a Ras Al Ghul beard and the screen cuts to: INCEPTION 2 - WE HAD TO GO DEEPER.

As far as Oscar potential for TDKR I really hope it wins the major awards come oscars 2013 for reasons listed....1) He reinvented a dying Franchise and elevated it to Oscar Standards. 2) Nolan is one of the Best New Directors of the decade and for his ability to so far Top himself through each film and captivate Audiences/Critics is Incredible and needs to be recognized! 3) Like LOTR, The final film was epic and won big at the oscars. Im hopeing for the samething to happen for TDKR. 4) If any superhero film series is worthy of Oscars once in a lifetime......You aint gonna get a better chance than with chris nolan and his Batman Series!!

while I take this with a grain of salt it's pretty much how I thought it would end. (I posted it a few months back on the how will it end forum)
If I had written the ending it would be a statue of Bruce and Batman back to back. A Plaque with the quote "It's not who you are but what you do that defines you" It would be in the courtyard and commemorate the opening of the Wayne home for boys and one of the orphan kids we met during the film who was a steadfast defender of Batman even when everyone thought he was a criminal would get this gleam in his eye and as the camera zoomed in we'd see the bat emblem in it ..we get a voice over of the Begins quote "as a man I can be corrupted or killed but as an ideal.."

My cousin's nephew is the son of Christopher Nolan's garderner's brother. He told me the exact ending. We will hear the Batman theme, then, "The Dark Knight Rises", then "A Christopher Nolan Movie". Outstanding!
