Rush Limbaugh thinks that Bane is a thinly veiled analog of Bain Capital and, therefore, a Leftist attack on Romney. Because Nolan knew this would happen. Three years ago.

...yeah.
lol.

*sigh*

Loved James' review. I'm all for going for it, even if you come up slightly short in the wake of a considered masterwork.

Agreed. Berardinelli is one of the best in the business, especially for nerd movies like this. He's saying it's a better trilogy capper than Return of the Jedi and that this trilogy might never be topped in the superhero genre. That sounds pretty damn good to me.

At first I didn't think you were being serious, and then I realized...

:lmao:

Whether or not there are political undertones in the film, I honestly can't understand why critics use that as a possible criticism, positive or not.

His has been up all day for me. Unless you're saying the just added it to the rotten-meter?

I think it was the Village Voice review they just added.

Also another positive from the Washington City Paper was posted.

Yes sir.

Tomatometer rating should bump back up to 86% in a moment.

Wait...the Limbaugh thing...that's serious? He really thinks that?

Faith in humanity lowered a couple points.

This would be the second time where both the right and left wing see a Nolan Batman film attacking them.

That to me means Nolan did the right thing with political subtext. Everyone shares blame in his fabulist tales.

Just when I thought ole rush couldn't possibly be more ignorant.... Yikes. Scary part is there are people who really believe it.

The timing is amusing. And RomneyBane on The Daily Show last night was hilarious.

Dave Chen from slashfilm...he isn't on RT or anything but he tweeted

@davechensky: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES: Astonishing visuals & set pieces, unbelievable emotional heights. And an absolute disaster in terms of storytelling.

That's about par for the course with Limbaugh, though.

Well yeah, but still, that's beyond stupid. And it pains me that there is someone out there listening to him and will decide against seeing the film.

Limbaugh owes this film's box office 10 bucks. Or he could just never talk again. I'll take either.

This... this'll be interesting to read.

Rush Limbaugh is a moron. He lives in a bubble.

I'm getting pretty tired of critics calling Nolan pretentious and his films self-important. Yes, we can all agree to disagree and I don't think his films are perfect by any means (I actually think I have strong criticisms to offer myself), but I think some of these critics like taking pot-shots and borrow the same spew from one another.

Still, I'm glad the man takes chances with his movies. They'll hate him for it...but he can take it.
