Keep climbing bruce!
Keep climbing bruce!

So Berardinelli, Honeycutt, Chang loved TDK more (all gave 10 ) fits with the RT's statementok at least it's getting called THE best superhero trilogy of all time. I hope Roger Ebert ,Micheal Phillips, Claudia Puig doesn't follow suit and give it a 3.5/4. I want a 4/4 damn it.
so that metacritic rating can go up. It's now on 80 down from 82.
even micheal thinks its not as good as the dark knight 2.5/4 He gave dark knight 4/4 I see a horrible pattern forming
PLEASE 4/4 ebert, roeper don't fail me
I agree. The nearest he has come to greatness. Much as I love his work, I feel about him the same way I do about Pearl Jam (stick with it). One truly great work (Vs) and a lot of good albums with some outstanding songs and some real forgettable filler. There isn't a Nolan movie that isn't flawed, but man when he hits the mark, he hits the mark. But needs to get leaner.
What I like about Phillips' review is that he said if you enjoyed BB/TDK, you will probably enjoy this one. That's good to hear, especially from someone who admittedly did not enjoy it as much as TDK. I still say Berardinelli and McWeeny have probably given us the best insight into the film's quality from a nerd perspective. If they say it's a great conclusion to the trilogy, then I'm inclined to believe them given their credibility on other nerd properties.
Imo, my choice would be The Prestige.
The Prestige
Inception
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Memento
Following
Insomnia
Agree. LOVE The Prestige. And it's underrated which sucks.
The Donald loves TDKR
Have we started a tomato?
I love Memento (outstanding film) but The Prestige kicks its ass.t:
That's why Memento works. It's smaller, so he had less time/funds to go chasing useless side-plots.
It's also the best utilization of his puzzlebox mentality.

I like the Prestige, but I actually like the Illusionist (which came out about the same time) a little better, but mainly because of a kick ass performance by Paul Giamatti.
I still liked the Prestige (but the book was better)![]()
Are you being purposely obtuse? I'm talking about with reference to the Bat-verse. Oldman is perhaps my favorite screen actor, but what Ledger did with the Joker trumps his Gordon. I'm not saying Ledger is the best general actor in the cast, but rather that he had by far the best character and performance in the two films, so likely the most potential in any future role.
