did LOTR fans say goodbye when Return of the King was realesed? i dont think so. form my experience when a trilogy is finished more people talk more about all 3 movies and the last movie together. this is not happening here. it is very strange.

i am not trying to say that people didnt like the movie. this is not about good or bad. i think people dont care about TDKR even when they liked it. thats the worst it could happen .

Clueless doesn't even begin to describe this post.

I actually agree with his assessment. I enjoyed it, but it left me feeling very indifferent afterwards, and for all the time I devoted to anticipating it I never would have figured that.

I think his assessment is silly. 90% of the posts on this board leading up to the film's release were speculation about the plot. This kind of crap is actually the most annoying thing about these forums IMHO. The board was at its best when new footage would be released and for 5 minutes people would talk about the footage itself before going right back to plot speculation (with footage used to fuel their theories even more). Let the filmmakers tell the story instead of coming up with your own bogus theories. But people enjoy doing this kind of stuff more than they enjoy watching the films themselves.

Yeh im actually shocked at how well the whole show holds up after rewatching it. Even though i know whats gonna happen i cant stop watching

Season 5 had so many twists I ended up being surprised again when rewatching it!

The fact a show like 24 got canceled is the poster your replying to's username.

I just started watching 24 for the first time. Didnt expect to find spoilers in here.

I guess so. I mean the main villain did change toward the end of the film which I swear happens every season :funny:. Although Batman did have a Jack Bauer "WHEREEE IS ITTT" moment which was nice to see.

Bane is far more successful. There is only so much **** a terrorist can do when Jack Bauer is around.

Wow, I'm gonna have so much fun! So there's moles and all that too?! That's pretty rad. I hope the 24 film has a Bane-style villain too!

Just finishing Season 7.

I see. That's cool. I didn't like Season 7 overall and I guess it was mostly my fault.

I wholly agree. Like a trailer would come out, and instead of enjoying it for what it was, it was "oh, I wonder if when Blake is talking to the orphan is right after Gordon dos so and so and I think that batman scene is right near the end where he talks Selina into helping, where the ninjas told us from call sheet 22, blah blah".. I found it kind of ridiculous. I mean, there's spoilers, then there's flat out ruining something for yourself or hyping something up to a level nothing could happen except being let down.

I found both Season 7 and Season 8 meh. They weren't bad like Season 6, though.

I don't know what to say to this, but this is what partly destroyed 24 Season 7 for me :(

Uh speculation is part of the fun for many of people myself included. Despite speculating i set my sights accordingly before entering the theaters. Also, some of us dont find the experience to be ruined by speculating and figuring out plot points. Reading what happens and actually seeing it for the first time are entirely different experiences for me so spoilers have never bothered me.

Personally i find it irritating and annoying when someone wants everyone to be like them. You dont speculating fine but ive done it throughout countless films productions and il continue to do it for many many more.

I pretty much avoided the boards for a while because the constant plot speculation just got boring...it was obvious that this plot was going to be fairly straightforward, and I didn't want to see it and all its possibilities talked to death before seeing the film.

And you're basing this on??...

Season 7 is good IMO though other than Jack Bauer it didn't feel much like 24. Always good to see Tony Almeida back though.

Can't remember much about Season 8 but only remember a ridiculous sequence where Jack Bauer wears full armour to get someone from a car and never seems to run out of ammo!!! He fires one gun a good 50 times.

Season 5 is proabably my favourite. It never slows down and I really like the storyline. Season 4 and 6 are the worst IMO. Though I really should be discussing this in the Tusi...

"Boring" is the perfect description. I'm sitting there excited about new footage and people want to go right back to speculating about the plot. We have no control over the story Nolan will tell, so why bother? Just seems like a waste of time and energy to me. But apparently tons of people enjoy this kind of thing.

I think it was more people speculating over the timeline. I mean I as well as others thought the football stadium scene was gonna be an early scene in the film, before he breaks Bats.

Still counts as plot speculation. Meanwhile, that scene should not have been shown in the trailers. Same goes for "not everything, not yet." At least they didn't completely give away The Bat's final scene, which was awesome.

Hmmm... I actually liked that they included the "Not everything. Not yet." scene in the trailer. It teased just how high the stakes are this time. And you just know that it will lead people to think that Batman giving his life for Gotham is definitely possible. That's the part in all the trailers that hit me the most. Still just as good when I saw the film.

It hit me more in the trailer, but that's because I'd read all the spoilers before seeing the final film. :oldrazz:

The thing I'm glad they did not show is the "come with me" part. I'm glad the marketing didn't hint too much at their relationship. If anything it was teased as adversarial.
