Say the quote all ya want... without Bruce's training, Batman would have been caught/killed on day one.

Did The Joker have special training? I doubt it, yet he was able to elude and escape the GCPD's grasp on numerous occasions.

While John Blake wasn't a trained Ninja, he was a highly competent cop/detective. Who knows what further training he would seek, but he already possesses the resources to help him along the way.

He kind of contradicts himself by being the leader of an organisation of highly trained and skilled ninja assassins.

You can spend ten years in a dojo but when the time arrives to fend off an attacker with a knife you could just freeze like a deer in the headlights. I mean, either you have it or you don't. Not every individual who received training is going to be a BAMFer or a prize fighter.

training isn't that necessary when you blow up and kill everything in your path.

"Your training is nothing.' So why is Ra's wasting his time training people :lmao:

Sorry dude, but saying the 'will' to be Batman is enough to actually be Batman is foolish IMO.

adding to that, Bruce had the will to act in the beginning of Begins... he was fighting thugs (6 of them). So was he ready to be Batman then? No. He needed training... which is the point of half the movie lol.

Too literal is too literal. That line was meant to motivate him.

When Ra'S says "your training is nothing..will is everything.."

I think what he means that will is needed, relying just on training is not going to achieve the goal.

He can use the training only if will exists, otherwise just training is useless on it's own, hence the line -"training is nothing.."

exactly. which is why he brought up his father. he is saying your training is nothing WITHOUT the will to act. then again, the will to act wont last very long without training lol

Ra's says things when it suits him and his intentions. He's a master manipulator.

i wanna know why that backstabbing asian dude didn't tell Ra's Bruce saved his life! :lmao:

Since I was against him being Batman all along, I choose to use the "Robin" name as an escape from what Nolan implies at the very end. The implication with the bats flying around him and whatnot is that he becomes Batman, but Nolan gave us a way to sidestep that if we want by assuming he becomes Robin. I'll take that over Batman any day of the week.

And why would he be Robin when he already was "Robin"? Why would he choose a name that could give away his true identity?

I've been trying to find that pic for a while, does anyone still have it?

Yeaaaaa... it kinda is when you have cops all over the city with, at least, a standard 9mm.

Like Kane suggested, the line is for motivational purposes but it holds a grain of truth. You could ***** about how Ra's is wasting his time with Bruce if he believes in the quote so much, but the training is meaningless if you have can't act upon it (similar to how a professional fighter is stellar during sparring sessions but subpar during a sanctioned bout).

It's all 90% mental, 10% physical.

He probably told Ra's it was him who saved him. Shady guy is shady.

screen cap from dvd?

Nah, someone posted this funny pic a while back of how the asian guy who said "I will tell him you saved his life" never told him thus pissing off Ra's and shows up at Wayne Manor.

In TDK the 'fake batmen' had the will to act... but no training... they had to use guns and crap.. hence... they are not batman.

Blake could be the best cop in the force... but just because he wears the cowl does not mean he will last long just because of his will. the training is a necessity and its what separates Bruce from everyone else.
