An inferior one, too.

I agree that regin isn't as good but it's still great. I hope that if they do Gwens death in the film series it is exactly like the hospital scene where he chooses to fight crime rather than stay by the side of his dying wife.

Knightfall is kind of a tedious read for me. I love the breaking scene though, of course.

With the exception of Bane's prologue (included in the 2012 reprint) and the breaking scene, I agree. I made the mistake of getting Volume 2 under the assumption that Bane would be back.

Do what I did. Read Volume 1 and read the rest after a couple of months. You will not have the comparison between volumes in mind and you will enjoy it a lot more than you would if you read them back to back.

I did the same thing with Dark Victory which as im told seemed painfuly bad after The Long Halloween.

I'd actually recommend trying Dark Victory. Maybe it's just me but I really like it. Not as good as The Long Halloween but still good.

In tdkr would have been cool to see Bruce.come back and find Alfred beat up, the fight then goes down to the cavE and Wayne is broken down there. I mean whY not have the fight at Wayne manor?

Because they were taking the fight to Bane, who didn't have to leave city hall because he knew Bruce would come to him because he was "holding Miranda hostage".

Too risky? Being in his element, Bane wouldn't have to worry too much about the GPD interferring. If Alfred could find a phone, I have no doubt he'd have the cops at Wayne Manner. Especially after his research on Bane/seeing his fighting style on the security cam footage.

Yeah, I know what you mean. At times I wish Knightfall was a on-shot. I adore the first volume. Bane's origin. Breaking out the criminals. Batman exhausting himself, getting paranoid, and then getting bashed and broken in his cave. It's a nice, tight story like that. Ending with Bane dropping Batman to the ground saying "broken and done."

I agree about Knightfall too. The first volume is awesome sauce.

This. Everything after Bane breaking Batman was rather disappointing.

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to Knightfall. I like the second and third volume better than the first. The first volume is fun and intense, but it doesn't stop to take a breath. I like the aftermath better. Azbats reign, how the Bat Family deals with it, Bruces rise to the top again. It's awesome character stuff.

The best part of the aftermath of Knightfall was Bruce taking back the mantle of the Bat from Az in the cave. Very awesome. Everything else in between the back-breaking and that is pretty much crap and was a waste of my money, since I still bought every non-Bruce issue.

It drags for too long, first establishing AzBats as a ruthless Batman, then trying to reedem the character without a compelling reason (St Dumas changing his mind, whatever he was), and the aftermath with Shondra solving Bruce's paralysis with his recently introduced, barely and convoluted powers.

Bruce coming to reclaim his mantle was a relief for me, and a very good moment.

It's not that Knightfall gets bad after AzBats takes over. It's that it gets a bit dull and drags on a bit too long.

I think it is something that gets better with multiple readings though. At first, a lot of the AzBats stuff seemed really boring to me and it really felt like it was taking me forever to get through them. However, I feel the end result with Bruce coming back is very satisfying due to that. Because everything moves so slow to the reader, it really feels like an eternity until Bruce comes back. Then when he does come back, it is really rewarding. On my first reading, I used to skip over a lot of the dialogue during the Azbats stuff since a lot of it was boring to me. Every time I read the book, the AzBats stuff gets more and more interesting to me. I think it is due to me knowing where the story is going the second time around (and every other time after that).

Plus, the AzBats stuff being dull is in a way the whole point of the book. The message of the book is that Bruce Wayne is the one and only true Batman. Without Bruce being there, Batman is not who he is anymore and the story reflects that not only in its narrative but in the feel it gives its readers.

It really is. It's a bore to read , from start to finish. Bad characters , bad villain , bad setup , bad development , bad art.

Guys I'm predicting and I hope you all will remember this, on November 27, 2012 that I predict that by the time Comic Con 2013 rolls around we will have confirmation of a Christopher Nolan directed and staring as Batman Christian Bale JUSTICE LEAGUE!!! I have this gut feeling that they are all keeping it hush hush until after the release of TDKR on Blu Ray!!

Just remembering.

And how similar will Snyder's Batman be to Nolan's, I wonder?

I wonder how will they be able to introduce him in a team up film? How long has he been fighting crime? What villains has he faced? Does he have the same origin as Nolan's (year one) or is it like Earth One?
I hope we get the actual reboot in 2017.

I'm hoping he's an early-on Batman, maybe year two or something. At the same time, I hope he's not too inexperienced... we've had a lot of Batman "learning" or "recovering" and not as much of Batman "in his prime" in the Nolan movies.

My thoughts exactly. Year two or three is him in his prime where he has experience but isn't old. Supes should be year one and still learning. For Batman to win (I bet my socks he will) he has to rely on experience and strategy.
