IIRC, there was a section of Batman Vs Bane part II that was cut out of the film, where Bane has Batman held by his neck; trying to break his neck. There is even a still of this from the shooting.
Whaaaaat?

This is the picture. I'm sure you all have seen it before:

I think it was a line out of the official novelization of TDKR that mentioned Bane holding Batman trying to break his neck, during there final fight. I will have to do more digging to find it.

I wish Batman delivered a better asswhooping to Bane.

A longer fight would have been neat (especially the part in the script with the two of them being separated by Tumblers), but I think the fight in the film works.

Batman knows that trying to slug it isn't a good strategy. The bomb is going off in something like 30 minutes. So, he focuses on exploiting Bane's weakness (mask) to get the upper hand.

Plus, Batman still knocks Bane through the glass, then kicks him down the steps. :batman:

The badly choreographed extras fake hitting each other in the background was distracting, too. I would have preferred Bane and Batman's final throw down to be in a private intimate setting, like it was with Ra's, Joker, and Dent.

I actually thought that is where they were going when Batman kicks Bane into the glass door. I'm like oh man, Bats is just getting started. Nope, just triggerz and stuff. :oldrazz:

I liked the swarm of people around them, eye of the storm.

Same. Loved how Batman was fighting with the cops.

That moment when the horns are blaring as the camera swoops around Bane, right before Batman walks up to him, is badass.

The moment where Batman appears in the crowd through the smoke, your avatar, that was great. :woot:

It's tough to watch that scene sometimes because they just stick out so much to me. I really wish they would have surrounded Hardy and Bale with stunt men doing some legit looking fighting, and leave all the extras who are going through the motions in the background behind the stuntmen. That way it's truly just background noise to the main focus of the Bane/Batman fight.

I can see how you can say that, but when that scene comes on, still to this day, im watching Batman and Bane. Im never watching the backround. Only when i come online to see a video clip where a fan points it out, then i look at the extras. I think when you're dealing with thousands of extras, you have to just go with it because they're not fighters. There's gonna be some phony shots going on in the backround. But that's why they're in the backround.

I like Batman knocking Bane through the glass, but all in all, I wish this fight was as memorable as the first round.

The Batman/Mutant Leader rematch from Dark Knight Returns is the perfect template:

The mutant leader rematch was also what I sourced as an example of how to do that fight right. It would have fit in like a glove, especially considering how much Rises borrow from Returns and how loyal Bane's men are to him in the same way.

I get what you're saying, and while I love the fight with the mutant leader I think the context is a big part of what makes it great. In TDKReturns Batman is fighting the mutant leader on his own turf, sending a message to the mutants themselves ("Hey, I beat your leader.").

In Rises, the second confrontation does have a personal element between Bane and Batman, but the driving aspect of that fight is more about subduing Bane and stopping the bomb. Given that Bane's men were busy fighting the cops and guarding the bomb, I'm not sure how a fight similar to Returns could have been integrated.

Overall I do agree that a bit more fighting would have been great to see. It's over a bit too quickly, but I think it works in the context of everything happening and the ticking clock.

As a side I just love those shots of Batman dodging Bane's punches. Rope-a-dope! :oldrazz:

They did the fight right. That second fight is intense as hell. Crazy punches being thrown then Batman getting the best of him. My favorite bit is actually a small Bale/Batman moment where Bats nails Bane with that elbow accompanied by a growl. Everytime he growls with that elbow i just yell **** YEAH!

Haters circle around, but i love dem' growls! This batman was so MANLY! :hehe:

The music really makes the second fight for me. Epic war drums as they're locked up, then Batman gets the upper hand and slashes the mask open, Bane's look of shock, then the "Fire Rises" theme kicks in again as Batman gracefully dodges and deflects all of Bane's wild and furious punches. Such a fist-pumpingly awesome moment, especially considering all that led up to it.

Dude, watching Rises for the first time, right when Bane catches Batman's punch again, but this time Batman just powers through it and Bale starts growling while pushing Bane backwards.....:wow:I was totally in the zone.

I think you are forgetting that those are supposed to be Gotham City Police in the background. Most police officers in real life don't know how to legit fight unless they have prior military service. Some might have been in bar fights, but that's about all the fighting a cop is going to know. They aren't trained in hand to hand. Just how to throw someone to the ground and cuff them. Those skills won't do very well in a fire fight with mercs. And these untrained cops have been held captive for months and are weak. So what's going on in the background is pretty accurate to how a bunch for cops would look in a hand to hand combat situation. Actually a more accurate depiction would be them all getting their asses stomped into the ground in a matter of minutes.

What isn't accurate at all tho is the idea that Bane's men would charge the police head on when they have tumblers and automatic weapons and other artillery. Batman only took out one gun on one tumbler. So why the mercs forget their guns and charge head first into a bunch of civi cops is beyond me. They would have lobbed tear gas and flash bangs straight into the police from the front and from the building windows above and sent a couple tumblers to the rear to flank the cops and box them in. Slaughter commences. No more cops. Sure the way it played out in the film makes for a cool scene, but that's only if you don't give it a whole lot of thought. Point is, it does no good to over think these fictional situations. Just take it as is and enjoy it.

I definitely wish it was longer but I still liked the last fight. Plus, I love this part:
