With all due respect to anyone here who frequently posts there, the BvS forums are practically universally mocked anywhere you go on the Hype, from the Marvel forums to even the DC television sections. Almost nobody posts there but the fanboys, not because of the opinions people hold but because of how fascistic they come off in response to those who disagree with them. It's a mixture of MOS fanboys, Nolan haters and extreme Batman fanboys. A minority to a group of nerds, who are a minority in the total population in the first place. That's kinda my point, and why I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

I feel like many of them are generally bitter that MOS had such a divisive response, so they take jabs at anything that was either more successful or more acclaimed than MOS, like The Nolan trilogy, The Donner films, or MCU films like Avengers or Winter Soldier.

True, they are very sensitive about MOS, and very paranoid too.

I take pride in making fun of the stuff that's said by both hardcore DC and Marvel fans from time to time though :o

There's always bad apples in a bunch, and that goes for the spectrum of forums here at the Hype. It isn't limited to the BvS boards. I find many posters there to be annoying, but I also see plenty of grating posters on the Marvel side who feel the need to put down DC to build up Marvel and who jump at the chance to harp on DC's past misfires whenever anyone brings up a criticism (often legitimate) of a Marvel film.

Search any of the "big" subforums here and you'll always find inane discussions, completely biased debates, and a wide variety of trolls. I've always found that the BvS forum (and previously the Batboards) gets the worst rep because it's consistently been the most popular and active subforum of the Hype, thus attracting the most crazies and garnering the most attention from the other forums. There are still plenty of good, passionate Batman fans who post in there and despite what some say, it IS possible to have intelligent discussions within that forum.

Also, I do think that at the height of TDK Trilogy's success, many posters who frequented other forums were jealous of the attention and success that surrounded Batman. Now, that kind of attention and success is more widespread and closer to being even between various franchises, which is cool to see.

I think there's just a lot of noise in that subforum to sift through. Kind of by default, cause it's one of the most popular subforums on The Hype. But I think it's kind of a special case there, being that it's mixing two of the most popular characters. Lots of different agendas swirling around and colliding in all sorts of combinations. It's just too much for me to have the patience to seek out any genuine, good discussions there. I know there are good posters there though, bless your souls. Guys like Sawyer, Boom, yourself, KRYPTON INC, Rowsdower!, etc.

It kind of reminds me of my experience at Comic Con in recent years. It's fun and exciting for a while, but then the crowd and all the human traffic jams just ends up wearing me down, and I'm overwhelmed and tired within a couple of hours. :funny:

I tend to prefer my safe little bubble in this thread, haha. When the trailer teaser finally drops, I look forward to discussing it with my peeps in here moreso than the jungle over there. Hopefully they don't pull the plug on this place anytime too soon. :csad:

Yup, and a lot of the noise and BS to swift through is due to the genuine lack of news or verified information about the film. I mean, we don't even have an official synopsis yet.

Once we know or have seen more, there should be plenty worthwhile discussions and debates to be had.

Finally someone got a clue. All fanboys are the same. They display the same traits of near religious devotion, obsessiveness, defensiveness, insecurity, conspiracy theories, and elitism.

What separates fanboys is just their object of affection. Not their characteristics.

......okay.....

there maybe exceptions to the rules like Avatar fans who are depressed and want to die so they can live on pandora. But those are fringe exceptions.

Edit: Holy balloon, there is only one topic in this board. Time to merge the Nolan Batboards.

Everything is still here. Just go to display options and click on beginning instead.

This...isn't anything most people don't already know. Its just that some fans are worse than others when displaying these attitudes.

Do they? Even several posts above you had people saying how BvS is swarming with the worst fanboys. I have seen just as much fanboy inanity in the MCU or Spider-man boards. Despite being on top of the world, a lot of fanboys on the AOU boards are as petty and insecure as that of BvS boards.

I guess you can say they display these amusing characteristics in greater quantity because the BVS boards have more posters at a given time. But the magnitude is about the same across all fanboy-dom.

Telling them that im bored to tears with the rumored casting of Rick Flagg (mr new Robocop himself) in the main thread. They got their panties in a twist. I said i was no longer interested in the movie beyond being curious about Leto's performance/look and that the spinoffs don't interest me as much as the Justice league team-ups since it's becoming quite clear to me that they're all desperate moves to catch up to Marvel.

Do we really need a Flash or Cyborg movie?? Wonder Woman and Batman i get but come on! Desperation just like Sony or Fox. I'm usually pretty damn biased with DC and i defend them because they're my favs. But i gotta stop convincing myself that what they're doing really works for the story.

Im sure ill bust a nut once i see trailers for Batman versus Superman, but ill still be skeptical about the final product. Terrio is not a messiah and Argo was good but not Best Picture worthy in my opinion. Snyder will be Snyder. Justice League has potential to be better than Avengers or utter non-sense.

Some days i wish our beloved Batman just had his own rebooted universe with Affleck and Irons.

I didn't really see what the big deal was tbh. You just didn't like the casting and while the whole "I'm not interested in the movie as I once was" didn't make much sense to me, I also don't see the big deal in everyone overreacting to your opinion.

Im used to saying something like that and people discussing it, agreeing and disagreeing. But over there it's like everyone is on this super hype train for Bats v Supes and the entire universe, to a point where they jump down your throat when you say something negative. My opinion was probably seen as extreme because i said the spin-offs were looking dull to me and Spidey entering Marvel had me more excited these days. They probably had a heart attack.

Sorry to hear you're no longer interested, I do hope that you end up liking it at least. :) Or that there'll be something that interests you.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on Flash, but yeah I absolutely agree with Cyborg. I don't mind Cyborg (though not a character I care about either), but there are better picks for leading characters and founding JL members. If he's there because they wanted a black member, why not John Stewart? And if they wanted Hal still, why not have them both on JL and make Green Lantern something of a buddy cop movie with John as the more experienced member and Hal as the rookie? Though I suppose both on the team would be a bit redundant power wise. I don't know, but I'm sure if that were the reason they could find someone better than Cyborg.

Overall the universe I think has potential but I don't trust the current team to use that potential and characters/teams I'd like to see lead films likely will not, which puts a damper on that for me. Those being, just off the top of my head here, Batwoman, Birds of Prey, maybe a Black Canary/Zatanna teamup ala Bloodspell, Gotham City Sirens, Power Girl would all be great to see but I doubt we'll be seeing any of them (as leads, to be clear).

From what we know now of the universe, I'm only particularly interested in Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, the inevitable Batman solo and kinda BvS though that one's significantly more apprehensive than the others. I can see the potential for Flash and Green Lantern to be good but at this time I'm not interested. And Cyborg I don't remotely care about. Justice League I'm not too interested in either, as I'm concerned about them not focusing enough on the characters and instead it being too action driven. But hopefully I'm wrong and it's good. Wonder Woman I think has a pretty solid director, is a character I love and is her first full live action feature film. Hopefully Gadot's actually good, otherwise that's going to be really disappointing. Suicide Squad I think also has a good director at the helm and I really like Harley so I'm excited to see her on screen for the first time and I like who they case. However, losing Hardy for Kinnaman, if true, is disappointing as Hardy is a much better actor of the two of them. Also not a fan of Will Smith or Jai Courney. That being said, Ayer managed to get me not to hate Shia Lebouf in Fury so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt there for now. And then the Batman solo is pretty obvious why. BvS I like most of what I'm hearing but Snyder just worries me.

TBH I'm more interested in Suicide Squad over BvS mostly because of the cast. Hardy was a loss but Smith, Robbie, and Leto are still enough to make me excited about it. I most especially can't wait to see Robbie as Harley. She's going to be SO amazing. :hrt:

I want Wonder Woman to do well because well, it's Wondy and it's about time she get her own successful movie.

I think most of us would like to see the DCCU succeed. It's just that right now we have very little information to work with apart from the announced actors/directors. So far, it's looking solid for Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman with both Ayer and MacLaren directing respectively. BvS remains one to be cautiously optimistic for, and the rest we know virtually nothing about. Until we get something concrete, I think we should reserve our pessimism and hope for the best.

:awesome:

I've actually got more faith in Suicide Squad than BvS to be honest, mainly because of David Ayer. I can see him making a really badass and fun movie out of it, and I think the cast is still pretty strong even without Hardy. BvS at this point just has so many question marks for me besides the visual aspect that I'm mostly in wait and see mode, but I'm leaning cautiously optimistic and hoping it will deliver in a way that MoS did not, for me personally. It will be a trip to see Batman and Superman interacting on screen for the first time, that alone is worth the price of admission. I just hope the movie manages to pull off a consistent tone that feels right, that seems like the trickiest part to me.

And yeah shauner, you post one droplet of doubt or anything other than furious fapping in there...good luck.

I am slightly fearful for Civil War too, on account of the fact that it is getting so crowded. But I still have more faith in the Russo Boys than Snyder.

I have little faith in B V S right now. If Batman weren't in the film and it was just MOS2, I'm not sure I would've even bothered to check it out in theaters.

Suicide Squad actually has me hyped, mainly for the cast.

Wonder Woman has me interested because of the director. I just hope Gal is a good Wonder Woman.

Hand Snyder a good script and you've nothing to worry about. Hopefully Chris Terrio was up to the task.
