My favourite scene is from TDK, when Dent and Gordon wait for Batman with bat signal is on Gordon switches off the signal when Batman arrives Dent turns and says "You're hard man to reach"

That scene screams The Long Halloween.

I had a lot of issues with TDKR, but the acting was not one of them. As said earlier, I thought Hardy did a great job of being able to convey emotions while the majority of his face was covered. I never cared for Bane in the comics, but he made me a convert.
Yep, I don't think it looks particularly comfortable to have a metal thing on your face but Hardy did a terrific job with his eyes.

Oh that TDK ending ("it wasn't") is one of Bale's best acting moments of the entire trilogy, but for the most part I just didn't see the spark in his eyes through the rest of the movie. I know he was having a lot of stress at home during that time, so maybe it affected his performance a bit. With TDKR he seemed to be enjoying it a lot more and had that spark in the eyes again like in BB. I think with TDKR he realized it was his last chance to play Bruce/Bats and he wanted to give 110% for it.
I think the personal issues of Bale didn't appear until well after filming for TDK. The rumors of family arguments didn't appear until he was filming Terminator (this is pure speculation but I guess that's where the rant came from?). From the set pics of TDK he looked either extremely relaxed (joking with Morgan Freeman/Michael Caine) or extremely focused IMO.

But going back to whether Bale was on his game or not, I point back to the interrogation scene. Nolan himself said it best, that part of why that scene works other than Heath giving it his absolute all and selling Bale's punches are Bale's eyes. His eyes are focused at the beginning, giving that cold staredown after punching The Joker's hand. But his eyes widen when The Joker tells him his situation. When he pins The Joker to the wall and has that contorted rage I remember thinking, this is the closest we will ever get to believing that Batman and The Joker could ever exist in our world. It's just little moments like this that get overlooked IMO, acknowledging that Bale has the least amount to do of the entire trilogy here and still being pretty good.

Which chase scene are you talking about? The tumbler chase with the bat and cat-pod is the last chase scene, lol.

Edit: Nevermind, I just read that wrong, lol.

Anyways, I will admit the final chase in TDKR was a bit of a let down upon my first viewing. But on repeat viewings I've actually grown to appreciate it quite a bit. It still comes up third after the tumbler chase in BB and the transport chase in TDK, though.

I loved that that scene. If there's just one criticism I have about it, it's that when the Bat takes off and is flying away from the rockets it really does stand out as obvious CGI at this point. But it just goes to show just how much of a stickler Nolan is for having almost everything grounded and tactile lol!

That is great. I think Ras was a bit underrated in the trilogy. I loved his motives and his character had a lot of layers. I suppose he wasn't as flashy as the Joker or Bane, but all in all a great character.
He was a very old fashioned, machiavellian Bond villain type figure which I always liked. He does get overlooked for the more colorful villains. My favourite scene with him was when he was telling Bruce how his wife had been 'taken' (boom!) and how he understood Bruce's rage.

I think the big criticism that Bane received in Rises was that he was too much like Ra's which to me wasn't a problem. I liked how they had infused Ra's al Ghul's philosophy into a militaristic Bane, making him even more dangerous than his predecessor.

Bane wasn't really that similar to Ra's. He carried the League's mission but the bombastic execution and the vengeance-fueled impetus for it separated him quite a bit. It was an evolution rather than a copy, about punishing Bruce just as much as it was about cleansing the world of Gotham. Ra's motivation for sacking Gotham in Begins didn't actually have anything to do with Bruce himself. If they had never met in that prison cell the LOS would have attacked Gotham all the same, the only difference being Bruce couldn't have stopped it. To be honest the basic goals of each of the villains, Ra's and Joker and Bane, are pretty much the same: defeat Batman and destroy Gotham. The reasons they do it are what set them apart among other things.

Yep, Bane's reasons were more complex than Ra's'. He believed in the mission in the same way (though more extreme) as Ra's. He also wanted to honour him, wanted to (in my mind) retroactively earn his respect, and wanted to do it for Talia.

My favourite part of TDKR to this day, is the introduction of Selina Kyle as Catwoman.. when she is at the Bruce Wayne function as a maid, and catapults out the window. It was perfect.

The first favorite (heh) part of the trilogy that comes to mind is the Prewitt Building scene in TDK. That entire sequence was simply gold. Batman at his best.

From the other two movies, the training montage with Ra's and the "Rise" scene in TDKR come to mind as some of my favorites.

One of my favorite TDKR scenes is Batman rescuing Blake from the Stargate guy and the Mercenaries.

It really felt like a Batman & Robin scene come to life. And the way Blake looks on in awe as Batman beats up the mercs....

I don't blame him. Guys were falling down without Batman even touching them :oldrazz:

I was gonna mention that, but decided against it, lol.

In own personal head canon, that guy was so afraid of Batman that he just decided to throw himself to the ground and stay there.

Yep, I almost forgot that it was a more personal attack. Not to mention that Bane was very close to Talia, she who blames Bruce for he father's death.

"They don't pay me enough for this ****." *plays dead*

He slipped on ice and decided to stay down to avoid getting beaten up. :o

The more I watch TDKR the more I notice the sloppy choreography.

In terms of the rooftop brawl and the fight when Batman rescues Blake, yep. Also the big rush of cops when they're running towards the mercenaries is very oddly edited.

The more I watch TDKR the less I try to think about the sloppy choreography, because I noticed it the first time I watched it.

It's bizarre, because the only sloppy choreography in TDK was the Hong Kong infiltration scene with Lau just standing there waiting for Batman to take him down. But in TDKR you've got a guy falling down during the Bat-Cat fight on the rooftop and then that LOS member "slipping" on ice when Batman saves Blake.

And then Nolan nailed the two Batman Vs Bane fight scenes without any issues, lol. I think TDKR has the best fight techniques of the trilogy, but technically speaking, it has the most flaws.

I dunno. Laziness setting in? He should've just let a second unit handle it.

And don't forget Talia's death. It wasn't a fight scene. But her death was like the dramatic equivalent of the goon falling down. Just lazy.
