^ Very true.

IIRC, Fudgie had some good arguments against the film. I forget why he got banned, though.

Fudgie was a real pain in the arse, haha. He was kind of abrasive milost, but minus the humor. A little on the confrontational side. I didn't miss him when he got the boot (can't remember why either), haha.

Unrelated, I just got back from Six Flags and finally rode The Dark Knight coaster for the first time. Sorta lame coaster, but the pre-ride video is pretty cool. Eckhart as Dent at a press conference and the video feed gets Jokerized at the end. I remember reading about that, but only saw it for the first time today. Lots of cool little Nolanverse Easter eggs in the line area too.

Should I really be surprised that TDKR is winning in the poll against Avengers: AOU?

The bigger surprise is that a film that came out two weeks ago is losing a poll to a film that came out three years ago.

Yeah you'd think with it being brand new, and the next big MCU movie, the kool aid drinking would have put it far in the lead at this early stage. Just goes to show how flawed it is.

Heh, I dunno, the Misc Comic section seems to have more DC/Batman fans than anything. It's not even a popular section to begin with. It seems to be mainly a "TDK-movie vs MCU-movie" section.

It's a popular enough section. Always has decent activity daily with several active threads. It's always TDK vs MCU movie threads because TDK always wins the polls (because it's the best), and some Marvel fans are determined to try and see it lose against one of the MCU movies so they keep making them. It still hasn't come close to losing against one so far.

It was a pleasant surprise to see TDKR and not TDK pitted against AOU. But then AOU doesn't even have close to the level of positive reception the likes of Avengers, TWS and GOTG got. And they all lost to TDK, so pitting AOU against it would be rather pointless. It can't even win against TDKR so far.

It used to be popular, when there was only about 5-10 section in this forum. Now there's around 35, with other little subsection in and of themselves. The Hype has gotten a LOT bigger now that there's so many CBM and TV shows.

The average poll in the Misc movie forum gets between 50-100 votes. Maybe a bit more if it's a REALLY popular movie. The vs polls in the Misc comic forum have around the same, or even more. For example the TDK vs TWS thread has over 140 votes.

So if the Misc comic book forum is quiet then so is the Misc movie forum because it has the same ballpark number of voters.

Heh, 140 votes is nothing. This forum has about 50,000 members.

Definitely, when I went into the thread for the first time I was fully expecting AOU to be winning comfortably, glad to see its winning but the votes are getting closer.

They knocked down the great Batman & Robin coaster (which always had a lot of problems and break downs) for that ****** TDK coaster. It's basically just a "crazy mouse" boardwalk coaster dressed up with some cool Batman stuff.

I'm currently reliving the hypes anticipation for TDKR. It's funny seeing Travesty looking very much forward to the film.

Yeah but how many of them are active?

That's a good point/question.

As per the site stats the most "users" ever online on the site at one time was 4,930 way back in 2012, but that figure actually includes non-member guests in the tally.

For example at the time I'm posting this there are 1045 "users" online but of that figure only 165 are actual members with the rest as guests.

Needless to say there are waaay less than 50,000 members active on this site. I'd hedge my bet and say at any give time there are probably only around maybe 500-1000 actual active members.

It's a Batman movie. Of course I was looking forward to it.

I blame Robin John Blake.

Exactly. There may be 55'000 registered accounts on SHH, but in all my years here I don't think I've ever seen a poll with any more than a thousand votes on it, and that's for the rate and review polls for big brand new movies back in the day. The ones these days don't seem to crank up nearly that many votes any more. It's because only a small percentage of those accounts are actually active. Having 500 active members on-line these days would be a very busy day on SHH.

He looks damn scary.

I remember alot of people talking about how scary Ledger's Joker was. I was like, ''Have you read Arkham Asylum?''.This is giving me some Arkham Asylum vibes, with a little dash of Miller.

It's giving me a a bit of nausea, with a dash of diarrhea.

He looks good minus the tattoo's. I saw the footage with Harley. Some of his movements seem a little too much but i gotta see it with the voice etc to completely judge it. Seems like we're getting a very stylish Joker this time around. Almost like if Ledger's version had more style. Looks like a red or purple-ish dress shirt, a fancy red car, slicked hair.

He looks damn scary.

He really doesn't. I'd actually say Romero has more of a creep factor to him than tattooed Joe Kerr here;

It's a shame because last night's pics looked so promising.
