The funny thing is, everybody kept saying how we'll barely see any of the tattoos when he has a suit on. Ahhh, don't worry, Ayer fixed that.

Yeah that and "the tattoos are just for the 75th anniversary celebration, they're not part of the movie look" will go down in Hype history as one of the more funny fanboy denials we've had about a movie.

I HATE the grillz... but I'm sure Leto will bring the creepy. It's not his fault Ayer pushed for a heavy metal/glam rock disaster.

Take away the grills and the ridiculously stupid "DAMAGED" tattoo and he still just feels like he's missing something. I'm giving the hair the benefit of the doubt for now that it's very neon to offset it when they use a darker filter, but we'll see. But ignoring that, he looks too...plain. The lack of a perma-smile of any kind doesn't help things.

I think they're doing it to show off the tattoos. If Leto is going to have to sit through makeup, and put on a full assortment of tattoos, I'm sure they're gonna try and get us to see their work.

I don't mind that. I didn't like the perma-smile on Jack's Joker.

Joker shouldn't be paralyzed into having a smile it should come from his mannerisms and behavior.

I'm really interested in how Leto is going to sound as the Joker. A part of me thinks he might just use a slightly more creepy version of his natural voice.

Snyder's Joker would most likely have been TDKR Joker. So someone just as jacked as Ben Affleck as the Joker.

Not sure if I'm reading this wrong - They'd only bother applying the tattoos when they knew they're going to be visible ie a shirtless scene. As opposed to just putting them on everyday and saying "Well, we don't want to cover up all that hard work, lets just pop a few buttons on his shirt".

Well, The Joker is pretty much known to have a narcissistic personality disorder, which rests on the notion that such people’s beliefs about themselves are greater than are warranted by reality. They have an over-inflated sense of their own abilities and appearance, so it makes sense that The Joker would think he looks good and would want to "flaunt" his looks, as he pretty much has always felt.

True, but I always saw Joker's narcissism as a little more...twisted. Not "check out these pecs and tats, brah".

But in the context of a Joker who is more and shape and inked up, sure it makes sense that he'd want to flaunt his looks. I think the issue people are having is still more with the look itself.
