A lot of great moments in the video. Probably the only one I'd remove is "the climb'. I found it entirely predictable and kind of cheesy.
I liked the climb. The music worked perfectly with it, too.

The prior flashback to BB with Bruce's father extending his hand was also a nice touch.

Very nice... and seeing that Memento gif reminds me what an underrated actor Guy Pearce is.

Probably a lot of people on the board liked the climb, but to be honest, I didn't enjoy any part of the pit scene. I just sort of sat and there and though, ok, we'll get a couple of failed jumps by bale, then he'll find that extra 'something' in himself and then he''ll make the jump. I'm sure that's be done in quite a few films before and will be done again in many future movies, but I just didn't it that suspenseful and it lacked any tension for me.

Of course we all knew he'd make it out of the pit. It was the "why" of it, and the way finding the will/fear led to his ridding himself of the need for Batman that made it as special as it was.

That's why the easy fix to his spine, too easy a fix for such a devastating injury, didn't bother me that much because it reframed the climb as something more spiritual. Bruce could rebuild his body but he still couldn't escape because there was an internal shift that needed to happen (a process that takes quite a while). It tied the prison back to the Lazarus Pits with the renewal of Bruce's spirit, rekindling his will to live through fear, mirroring the literal resurrections in the comics.

I love the final fight with Bane, because they didn't reduce Bane's physical superiority over Batman. Bane was a complete threat throughout the movie. Batman stood strong, but he definitely took a lot more hits. And the only way he was going to defeat Bane was by damaging the mask - ala in the spirit of the comics, where he pulls the venom cord out.

I wonder, when Bane wraps the rope around Batman's neck just before Catwoman saves the day - do you think he had planned to hang his body outside ala Captain Jones and his colleagues? It would have been a brief mock given the bomb was going to go off. But a mock nonetheless.

Exactly, the Lazarus Pit took an the same meaning in a completely different way. It was incredibly clever.

That second fight doesn't get enough credit, I really love it. It's a brutal flurry, like a real fight.

And yeah, I've never thought about it before, but Bane's definitely the type that would put the rope around Batman's neck, shoot him and drag him out onto the steps yelling "GOTHAM! Your hero is dead... Now burn with him!"

I think so too.

As for Bane's blink and you miss it death, I quite like the "death does not wait for you to be ready. Death is not considerate or fair" perspective.

I think I mentioned that in my post. I just didn't find the "why' all that interesting or that emotionally gripping as compared to a similar scenario in other films.

In honor of Kane's gifs;

I am dying. The one at 0:23 is my favorite.

those bat voices...... make me want a funimation dub!!!

No... Pfeiffer is her favorite actress, someone she would like to model her career around and she LOVES her Catwoman.

It's hardly ignorance. It's merely a light-hearted opinion during a PR session that's she is more than entitled to have. Perhaps she doesn't care for the 1960's interpretations and disliked both Berry and Hathaway.

Im not surprised you flew in here, minutes later, to defend your almighty queen.

Not having this argument with you :hehe: you're just going to defend her until you get blue in the face. It's happened before. I just don't think Pfeiffer was Selina Kyle at all. A good catwoman, yes. But of course they're going to "redo" the character. Burton's world wasn't very accurate or definitive. We have reboots and Catwoman is a staple that needs to be "redone" just like Batman or Joker. I bet she would play nicey nice if she had to work with a new Iron Man actor. I doubt she would say "Downey is the only Iron Man!".

Anyway, i like Elizabeth Olson in most of her roles but she also annoys me off camera.

Ohhhh the ignorance..

She's entitled to her opinion, but I think she's so so wrong. Michelle Pfeiffer is not even close to being the definitive Catwoman. Best performance as Catwoman definitely.

C'mon, dude. As a die-hard fan of TDKT, you of all people should know that something can be effective and compelling without being completely "accurate or definitive" to the source material.

Pfeiffer WAS a great Selina Kyle...for THAT version of Selina Kyle that was created specifically for THAT version of Batman and his "world".

Ohhhh the ignorance..

Another reason not to take shauner111 seriously... he thinks the subjective opinion of an actress about a fictional character constitutes ignorance. :whatever:

You get more and more desperate and more and more pathetic. :funny:

Absolutely Shape, but you dont see me saying Bale is the ONLY Batman. They keep trying to redo Batman but Bale is the ONLY ONE. Boo-hoo. Bale will not be the only one that deserves to be Batman, and Keaton or Bale won't go down as the best when it's all said and done. Even if i love Bale the most.

Yeah she was good for what she had to play. But it's still not Selina Kyle. They used the name. That's nice. There can, and will be better Catwomen in the future. Pfeiffer isn't the greatest thing to walk the earth like some people think.

And ohh Phantasm. Pathetic would be bashing me behind my back in a section of a forum that i never go to.

Its the height of hypocrisy.
