I have been reading that the ending was leaked or something and that supposedly batman fans will be happy and Superman fans will not be. Can anyone tell me what it is please?

Essentially Batman kind of wins the showdown between himself and Superman. In order to save the day against the greater threat, Superman impales Doomsday with a kryptonite spear, but in doing so impales himself on one of Doomsday's spikes.

I do want to see Superman in the JL, but I don't like the idea of him being brought back only for the third act.

If the JL can function without Superman, then there's no reason for Superman to be in the group. I don't like the idea of the JL under Batman's leadership.

There is always going to be a need for Superman.

Its mostly a team up of WW and Supes, while Bats acts as a distraction and Lois tries to retrieve the Spear, which she nearly drowns trying to obtain. Clark assists, nearly drowning, himself, from the kryptonite. Doomsday is HUUUUGE. Like 15 feet tall and evolving throughout the fight. WW does most of the work, and her lasso does get some use. While the rumor that she decapitated Doomsday is not true, she DOES chop off a hand, and a HUGE spike grows in its place. Superman tells Lois he loves her and flies in to stab Doomsday in the heart with the kryptonite spear, being impaled, himself, on Doomsday’s spikey appendage. (that image floating around is 100% legit). They both die. So, for those thinking “Doomsday is gonna be wasted in this movie, its too soon to kill Supes…” I’ve got some bad news.

The ending is kinda drawn out. There’s a HUGE procession for Superman, and a memorial (there’s a leaked image of that floating around, too), and a quiet service in Smallville for Clark. Lois is there, as are Bruce and Diana. Martha gives Lois an engagement ring that Clark had been planning to give to her. Bruce and Diana discuss the future. That Bruce worried and wants to contact the other metahumans. Diana doesn't think that's such a great idea, but Bruce feels that he failed Superman. Its all obvious set up for Justice League.

Thanks.
My feeling for a while has been that something like that happens i.e. Batman wins the fight or comes out looking a little better, but Superman risks the most to stop Doomsday and in the end is the movies greatest hero. That way, both sets of fans can be happy. Even if Superman is killed, he will obviously be brought back. This way, he will won over everyone's trust, including Batman's.
You should probably spoiler that btw.

I don't know why Superman fans won't like this, I'm a Superman fan and I love this. From the trailer, Superman even says 'If I wanted it, you'd be dead already'

Superman does NOT want to hurt people, it's the entire reason Batman and Superman have their discussion at the party, Superman does not agree with Batman beating people up to a inch of their life.

If Superman wanted too, he could quite easily kill Batman. When he tells him not to go to his signal after the Batmobile crash, he had every opportunity to kill him and even after Batman's threat, he walks away.

Batman wins the showdown because Superman is on the defensive. One punch from Superman would be enough to kill Batman, if not kill seriously injure

Ordinarily, I'd love that. But, with Cavill's Supes already criticized for all the destruction Zod--yes, ZOD--caused in Man of Steel, I'd be hesitant to have him being brainwashed by Darkseid and leading Apokalips to attack Earth. His Superman would never be forgiven for that, both by the citizens of Earth in the movies, and by fans who already blame him for the things Zod did.

I mean, it amazes me to this day that you never hear mention about the destruction Zod brought to Metropolis. Nope, only that Superman caused all that damage in his fight with Zod, nevermind that most of the destruction happened while Superman was on the other side of the globe.

Yeah you make good points to be fair. They've probably come up with something more awesome than any of us would have thought anyway :woot:

I could see it them bringing him back and they deal with how and why in his story arc for JL. I think just given the spoilers we know about BvS that Terrio's comments about MOS, BvS and JL been a trilogy shows these are Superman's arc. I think by the time JL1 has finished we'll get a Superman solo sequel official announcement. Going by what we know from BvS you can see why there haven't been more rumblings of a solo Supes movie now.

Superman is flat out beaten by Batman and almost killed by him.LOIS saves Superman's life. There is No way there is not gonna backlash about Batman Once again dominating Superman. Not to mention Batman.is setup as the leader of the League.

Yeah it still really doesn't sit well with me. Plus luthor knows supermans identity and family. So is martha kent going to have to live in a bunker her whole life?

It's not really winning when you're beating on someone who doesn't want to fight you

Well, Luthor is living in a prison for the foreseeable future.

True, but that won't stop some fans from going on about how "Batman kicked Superman's ass!"

We know it coming.

But from what we've heard, Batman comes out looking like the bad guy in the fight. Plus, it wouldn't have been that amazing if Superman was winning the whole fight. And we see Superman kicking his ass at the start of the fight with barely any effort AND saying that he could have killed him already if he wanted to.

Superman sacrificing himself to save the world and as a result becoming a greater hero than Batman should be enough to satisfy Superman fans, rather than have him win his fight with Batman. If Superman won the fight and Batman sacrificed himself to stop Doomsday and as a result, got all the praise for being the movies biggest hero, then Superman's fans would also be unhappy about Batman receiving more attention at the end of the movie, I would imagine. Superman will obviously be brought back.

Both Batman and Superman fans consist of a lot of sensitive, precious babies that whine about every little thing. It was always going to be impossible to satisfy both fans. This is probably the best way for it to go down and to stay true to both characters. Superman is not about ego. He does not care about competitions or proving himself, he just wants to be a hero and save people. If Superman had the choice of losing to Batman and saving the world, he would take it rather than have things the other way around.

We know better though don't we? :cwink:

It's like the Dark Knight Returns, Batman beats up Superman with a **** ton of help and yet Superman saved the US from been dust before that.

Oh noes. If it bothers you that much, just bring up Superman sacrificing himself to save the world and being a better hero than Batman.

I am seeing all these posts about Batman leading the JL and Superman not coming back until the 3rd act. None of this is true! Cavill already said him and Ben will argue over who is the leader in the JL movie. Plus they aren't going to go the entire movie without Superman. If he doesn't come back in WW then he will be back in the 1st act of JL.

Yep.

Basically, Batman is low level grit and Superman is high level mythology. They are totally different characters, seeing and solving problems very differently. I seriously don't think either is necessarily better than the other, just different. That's why I think they're both so popular. Their contrasts.

Man oh man, if this all really true, we're in for a backlash ****storm thats going to make Man of Steel's backlash look like child's play.

I will give the movie a fair shot to prove itself, and perhaps it will be executed well but this is precisely the ending I did not want for this movie and its a real buzzkill for me personally.

Honestly. I'm okay about the backlash this will get. It's better than the move being forgotten less than a week after release like Ultron because it played it by the books.

No matter what anyone says, Superman fans will not be happy regardless because he was beaten by Batman in their fight. Is this the definitive fight? Definitely not.

I know right, but worked for the people at the NYC. And I think critics will like the ending too.

I was actually waiting for the backlash on Twitter last night but there was none that I've seen. I was waiting for "How could you do that Zack" tweets
