I hope the Xbox One fails, I was an xbox guy before i heard about the xbox one. Now I'm ps4 all the way
Look how Sony reacted to having proper competition. Without it I don't think PS3 would have made such a turnaround (wouldn't have needed to). And XB1's failing are due to not fearing the competition enough and getting arrogant. With no 360 or XB1 the PS4 would not be $399 now, it'd probably be $599.

GS is just out of the "Day One Edition" SKU. Polygon is reporting that they have reached their in-store Launch Day cap.

A spokesperson for GameStop told Polygon, "Due to high demand, GameStop is not taking additional store reservations for the Xbox One Day One Edition. However, reservations can still be made at www.gamestop.com ... In the meantime, the Xbox One wireless controller and top Xbox One games like: Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, and Kinect Sports Rivals are available for pre-order at all GameStop stores or online."

Gamestop still has a ton of bundles on sale on their site.

It's true. It's been confirmed by Kotaku.

Official statement:

Your Feedback Matters – Update on Xbox One
Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.

For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.

Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.

You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.

So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.

In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.

These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.

We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.

Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.

Wow. Consumer feedback actually got Microsoft to get their act together. The Kinect still sucks though

So can we get a no Kinect bundle ?

Software is one thing, but Kinect is hardware, they would probably have to make some serious changes to get rid of it.

I assume they've already started production on the Xbone.

You plug the Kinect in and are capable of turning all of its functions off if you want to. They would just need to patch out the need to have it plugged in for the Xbox One-80 to turn on.

I think Sony forced their hand.

And the armies of .gif images that filled the internet after Sony's conference. I mean, that was slew of brutal messaging that seemed to follow Microsoft. But, I'm amazed that they are backtracking on things. And, too late for me. I'm still planning on getting a PS4 before I get an X1.

Wait, so they got rid of being able to play a game without it being in the disc tray after you install it?

That's something I was looking forward to. I still want the physical copy, to only buying digital is out of the question for me.

Yeah, I think they hatchet-ed their policies more than they should have. Stuff like the family sharing plan and installing the games were good ideas. It all should have been optional some how.

I'm just glad the hate will hopefully die down. I won't hold my breath though. There's always something for haters to complain about. Like the Kinect I guess.

It should.
But still..people who didn't like the game selection of the 360 (like me) will likely not buy the Xbox One...wouldn't make sense to. I think the two consoles appeal to different kinds of gamers.

LOL guess they didn't feel like doing damage control up until it's release.

So I wonder if all they had to was flip a switch to turn some of these features off or not, haha. Nice to hear they actually listened to their fans but I wouldn't be surprised if fans still refused to buy one considering those policies being there in the first place.

That's hilarious. And has the price tag changed? Still getting a PS4. Microsoft had me but lost me.

I'm ****ing elated by this news. Now the only thing that freaks me out is the whole it watches you thing but I can deal with that lol. Am I the only one who loves both systems though? I find the whole Sony vs Microsoft thing dumb, it's like Star Trek vs Star Wars, I'm allowed to love both. I know which I prefer over the other but my adoration is pretty equal

Agreed. If traditional gaming is all you care about and all you're looking for is a videocard upgrade, PS4 is for you.
