its not BS marketing. They advertise 1TB in the console and that's exactly what is in there. There is no HDD out there that has 100% usable space. When formatted, a portion is always lost and that's before OS and permanent apps are added. That's pretty much how it is for pretty much every single device you ever purchase that has a HDD in it

ALL HDD's do that. My 4TB external that I just bought was really closer to around 3.8 TB's. Thats not a new concept at all.

..I know that I said I hate that they do it and I only care about free space. Just because it's always been done like that doesn't mean it wasn't BS from day 1.

I see the Xbox One stereo headset is on sale for 50. I've heard it's a pretty good headset with nice base. After Christmas I may look into a surround sound one but for now I'm thinking about picking this up. I mostly game in my bedroom since that's where my main TV is...and I need a headset..

My friend just got the new Turtle Beach X500. They are completely wireless, even the mic is too. They're pricey, though. I think he paid $220.

Oh yeah, TB headsets are very pricey... With two kids and Christmas right around the corner I'm not about to spend that kind of cash in a headset. They're totally worth it.. But still. I figure the 50 dollar one would work for right now then maybe pick up a better pair when tax return rolls around.

As for the updates on One.. I think they're around the first two weeks of the month.

I have the Astro A40 headset which is really good for playing at night. Amazing game sound quality.

Im behind the curve when it comes to headsets. It seems im the only one not using them. Apparently the sound quality in some of them are excellent though. Might need to think about jumping on board the headset train.

My friend had those before he got those new X500. But for that price, I think you should just get the old wireless X400 that were for the 360, and buy the TB cable for the mic. You can get a refurbished set for $80 from TB.

just curious......but is it possible to snap 2 games at a time? so you can switch back and forth?

like, maybe snap 2 digital games or 1 digital and 1 disc game?

I picked up the physical copy of SO when I got my CoD X1.

still debating if I should open the thing now and test it out. or wait till Xmas, cuz technically, I bought it as my Xmas present.......lol.

...I'm not going to jinx this console.

And 20%. It is 40 GB though, so it's not a small file.

I also got some of the free Gold shovelware... which I played for about two minutes.

I'll let you know how long it took to install from the disc once I get everything setup ( but that may be awhile....and I'm trying to save Sunset for Xmas ).

so what's your initial impression of the OS and UI?? do you like it so far??

Well, it's obvious that it was designed around Kinect. It took me two minutes to find how to redeem the code.

But overall, it's decent.

I honestly haven't had enough time to play with it.

I have most of Friday off, so then I will really get to play it.
