The Xbox One - Part 8

I do. But X Knight is my ally in the crusade to get Microsoft to upgrade the damn Bone.

*****ing is what gets **** done in this industry. Well that, and low sales, and buying the other company's console.

yeah!! that's the spirit!! :argh:

I can give you the key to surviving with a puny 500GB HDD. It's so simple, and it doesn't cost a penny extra.

I'm surprised no one has proposed bundling the Xbone with a external HDD.

no!! don't suggest that!!

Then MS will start making their own proprietary external drives which will cost TWICE as much as off the shelf brands.

now, I will say, the $350 X1 deal is pretty attractive. let's say you get that deal, then spend an extra $100 to buy a 2tb external drive. So, for $450, you'd get about 2.5tb of storage.

now, let's say you get a standard 1tb model will go for $450. So, same price, but in that case, you only have 1tb of storage. the trade off, though, would be the internal drive is bigger.

Yes. That's it, that's the answer. It's solved, it's dead, it's over. Turn off your MSX system right now, because it's done.

and that is the simplest solution. It's what I do on my PS4.

the issue, though, is that install times on the X1 are longer. Even Spencer has commented on that in recent days and says it's a priority for him.

because of that, it's more of a "hassle" to reinstall/redownload your stuff on the X1 compared to the PS4.

not necessarily a deal breaker. but waiting 15-20 minutes or longer each time to reinstall something is less convenient than waiting 2-3 minutes.

I can't see them doing 450. It's just not a good number. I think it will stay 400.

You have to remember that HDD prices keep going down, especially now with people preferring SSDs.

My guess is, they'll introduce a standard 1 TB drive probably early next year, and the price will be 399. By that point Xbox One production costs will be cheaper anyway, and 1 TB drives will be cheaper as well.

I think the 500 GB models will get phased out entirely by 2016.

Once real next gen titles start hitting the market next year, 500 GB will seem laughably small.

.....

.....

......

Goddamn.

and???

I really don't see what the problem is in me discussing this issue. just trying to have a friendly conversation.

besides, install times is a legit issue - even Spencer himself has talked about it and wants to shorten it.

Because you acknowledge how it's a solution, and then negate it because of an extra, like, 15 minutes. My God, 15 minutes...it's just, nevermind, I'm out.

and I even said it's not really a deal breaker. I've said in prior posts that 15-20 minutes is acceptable.

but, there's no denying that, when compared to the PS4, those times are longer and it would be nice to have them shortened.

which, again, Spencer has addressed and so it seems like they are working on it.

so, I'm not really complaining about the install times. I can live with that.

but, if you have a limited hdd, and you have to constantly delete/reinstall games, those extra 15-20 minutes will start adding up. especially if you have to do it frequently to save space on your hdd.

15-20 minutes may not seem like a big deal to you. but wouldn't 3-5 minutes be much more convenient?

hence........why it's prudent to wait. :o :cwink:

I do love the fact that the Kmart ad has a Xbox One for 349.99, but GTA V for Xbox 360 is still 59.99.

heh.

I just hope Best Buy will be willing to match that sales price. cuz I don't want to shop at Kmart ( my giftcards are all at Best Buy......lol. ).

so, what's the deal with Quantum Break??

is this for sure an X1 exclusive ( and possible exclusive franchise )?

I haven't really been paying attention to it. but just watched the latest gameplay trailer and.......wow!! :wow:

Why wouldn't they? Their price match policy is pretty clear

bc it makes no sense.

well, you never know. these companies always have some kind of fine print to weasel their way out of these things........

I'm sure they'll match it, though. and who knows, they might even be offering their own X1 deal that week.
