The Xbox One

Both consoles is looking VERY good and even much better than 360&PS3,Will be tough for me to chose just 1 But I will only pick one this time!

I'm glad none of the big things were offensive..that is the name, the look of the console and the controller. Was expecting a crap name after all those rumours and I actually like this name. Better than my favourite of the contenders 'Infinity' & I'm not joking if it was called XBox 'Now!' that might have put me off by itself.

Seems I'll likely end up choosing X1 over PS4..Unless they are blocking used games!

Wired asked Microsoft if installation would be mandatory. “On the new Xbox, all game discs are installed to the HDD to play,” the company responded in an emailed statement. Sounds mandatory to us.

What follows naturally from this is that each disc would have to be tied to a unique Xbox Live account, else you could take a single disc and pass it between everyone you know and copy the game over and over. Since this is clearly not going to happen, each disc must then only install for a single owner.

Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc.

But what if a second person simply wanted to put the disc in and play the game without installing – and without paying extra? In other words, what happens to our traditional concept of a “used game”? This is a question for which Microsoft did not yet have an answer, and is surely something that game buyers (as well as renters and lenders) will want to know.

Neither system blew me away games wise, though I am impressed with all the features of these systems.

But like Pat said, why do I need to have these features? Are they essential or are they being a bit extraneous?

Watching the making of the console on Spike!

  • The seamless transitions with Kinect and Windows 8 ('cause let's face it, that's what One's advertising) looked good. Not system-selling, but better than what they've got right now.
  • I've gotten hyped over tech demos before, so I'd rather wait for proof that everything we saw was realtime.
  • Spielberg + Halo = $. Bring on the inevitable record viewership.
  • I can't get completely behind this until they say if the cloud feature is just another way of stating "our games won't be playable without a persistent connection."
Sorry for the bullet points format, my thoughts on One are just a bit fragmented right now.

Forza Motorsport 5: Announce Trailer

I'm wondering if the announcer in the trailer is indicative of gameplay. It'd be nice to finally have an announcer (or two) in the game. Or even a crew chief/spotter giving you info/advice during the race.

If this is true, goodbye Microsoft.

Games&Prices is where E3 comes in,But the internet issue has been answered..No online only!

Great. That's a +1 for getting it and I really don't see any negatives yet.

The system price, as long as it's under $500 and the sytm holds up for 5+ years, is worth it and not an issue. It's the game prices of $60-$70 that is going to be a big hurdle. Even though I can probably afford a $60 game, I'm not buying this thing for one game, and I don't know if life will allow me to spend that much on video games. I'd prefer a minimum of a dozen games if the deck itself is $400, and at $60 a piece - you do the math... not being able to play used games and/or original X-Box games will be a huge negative in my book.

I think it's funny how he glossed over how it gets its TV feed. He mentioned Comcast but, I'm betting it would depend on your own local provider.

Also, nearly every feature they mentioned would require a high speed internet connection so, I'm guessing the "always on" rumors hold up.

Show us some actual game play!

Behind the scenes info on the controller makes me like it even more now

I think E3 is where the magic will need to happen. E3 needs deliver, for both companies. So, things like Sony not showing the actual console, and Microsoft numbing me with all these general audience things are understandable for me to save things for E3.

So the Kinect will always be live when your xbox is on no matter what? Not sure how I feel about that.

Other than that and a couple more minor issues that need to be cleared up, I am very excited for this. Im sure at E3 we will see some awesome titles for this.

I think Sony gets points for atleast showing games, though. There were games, games, games. That went a long way for me. Getting an idea of the general direction they want to take the next generation.

IF true..Hello&welcome PS4!

I think if Microsoft wants to go all the way with the Kinect, and not just have be a gimmick, then making it so integral to the system is the only way to go at it.

Yeah blocking used games is just dumb. It's not just used games from Gamestop, its renting games, gamefly, borrowing from friends

Yeah, I agree.

But, I wonder if that just takes time for me to see something I need to play. Maybe once I see The Witcher running on one of the systems, or MGS5, or Halo 5...then maybe those are when I get the itch to skydive into one of these systems. But, I feel the same.

Yea and thats why im really looking forward to E3. Sony and MS really need to show why i need to stop playing my PS3 and 360 and drop another 400 bux to jump to one of these next gen systems. I mean im still wowed by whats on the 360 and PS3. I mean have ya seen GTA V and the Last of Us?

If this is true, goodbye Microsoft.

If this is true, goodbye Gamestop and Gamefly.
Are they really going to kill off used games and rentals? If they do, then they *damn* sure need balance it out by knocking 20-40 bucks off the price of a disc. There's no way in hell the vast majority of gamers are going to afford 60 bucks a game *all* the time, and it'll virtually kill the industry.

I love the X1's features But I really appreciate thePS4's"All Pro-Games/Gamers/Game Developers/Game Features"attitude and that 's a big PLUS for me towards possibly getting a PS4!
