^ yeah. I think $399 would be super aggressive. It would be nice for us consumers, but I think that might be a bit low. especially if it is indeed the powerhouse beast it's rumored to be.
 
Just depends on what Microsoft are looking for. They don't need every device/division they come out with to be profitable in the short term. I think regaining market share and setting up the position for their next gen console after Scorpio or the future in general is more important to them than making extra millions on a higher Scorpio price. In that way the original Xbox was successful even without doing huge numbers by setting up a platfrom for the 360 and the hard work done salvaging the PS3 after its difficult launch paid big dividends later.

Sounds like a good idea. Shame I'd probably already have nearly all the games. Will be good if they are still doing it in a number of years and start covering a lot of X1 titles that I don't have.
 
not a fan of subscription services, but $10/mo is reasonable and at least you can download the game directly to the console and you get a discount should you decide to buy the game.

of course, given how long it took to download digital games to my X1 (back when I owned an X1 ), by the time I'd download the game, the month would be over and the game would be inaccessible. :o

Haha. 360 games are tiny though in comparison.
 
Yep. Need to have 4th world internet to struggle with that. :D
 
yeah. 360 games wouldn't be a problem. it's those big 40-50g AAA titles.

I swear, it seemed like Halo:MCC took a whole week to download.......lol.

of course, as I've mentioned previously, I don't have very high speed internet. But it just seemed to take longer to download stuff to the X1 than to the PS4.

though I've heard MS has taken steps to improve download speeds in recent months.

that's one of the things I like about the Switch. it harkens back to the days of yore when you can just pop in a cartridge or disc and start playing.

In speaking with Generación Xbox, Xbox Spain's PR and Social Manager, Juan Carlos González revealed that there would be "several" launch games for Scorpio that will have "respective benefits of the new hardware."[/FONT]

Microsoft recently announced that their E3 2017 Press Conference would be held earlier this year, on Sunday, June 11th, something that Bethesda leveraged to their advantage back in 2015.[/FONT]

We've learned quite a bit about it, that it's basically like a PlayStation 4 Pro for Xbox One, but the team has still been relatively tight-lipped about it. That didn't stop them from launching a pre-order page for it though.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]While pre-orders aren't being taken yet, the page does have a prompt to let Microsoft email you when Project Scorpio is available. It's also currently listed as Holiday 2017 for release.[/FONT]

According to Windows Central, the Scorpio console will not be coming with a Power Brick, a feature that has awkwardly existed since the dawn of the original Xbox, though the Xbox One S managed to do away with it as well. Like the S, Scorpio will feature an internal Power Supply Unit as well as 4K video streaming for stuff like Netflix and Hulu.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]However, what's most intriguing is that Project Scorpio will be able to capture and output 4K, 60FPS video for Game DVR and streaming. By comparison, the original Xbox does this at 720p, 30FPS. So if you've been in the market for a video capture card, it might be wise to hold off and allocate that money for a Scorpio if you can achieve the best quality through the console, plus have a new platform to play games on.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]In other Project Scorpio news, the console just recently launched a pre-order page with a Holiday 2017 release window. There's still no word on a price point, but that hasn't stopped fans from making their predictions. Scorpio is also said to be launching with some platform specific games that will take advantage of its hardware, but once again, we have no idea what they are. The safe bet is that we will see more of the game, and get a price and release date come E3 2017.[/FONT]

hopefully the official Scorpio reveal will come in late April or May. can't wait!!
 
Can't see it happening before E3 TBH... maybe we'll get a hint at the shape of the box before then,,, or the price, but the full reveal will be E3
 
but I thought Spencer was hinting they might do the hardware reveal before E3, as they didn't want E3 to be dominated by hardware stuff?

I thought I read that somewhere recently.

[FONT=&quot]There is a new preview update available to Insider Program members! The update was previously available as an Alpha preview but has moved on to the Beta phase. Unfortunately, there are no new features in the update.
In the stead of new features, Insider members can look forward to a number of fixes that could have been deemed as annoying. The microphone issue that made it so group members couldn't hear you or party chat displayed 'no microphone' should be resolved and some game crashing issues should be resolved.

Games & Apps

  • Fixed an issue which could sometimes cause games to unexpectedly crash during play.

Party Chat

  • Resolved an issue which caused Party Chat to display a "no microphone" error when a microphone is connected and in use.
Microphone

  • Fixed an issue which sometimes caused microphone audio to not be recognized or sound distorted. This affected game chat (users in group can't hear the user speaking, or audio quality is poor) and voice messaging (voice messages fail to record correctly).
Skype

  • Resolved an issue which could sometimes cause Skype to crash while multiple users are signed in.
KNOWN ISSUES:
• Party Chat

  • Party chat will stop functioning when headset audio is switched from Stereo Uncompressed to Windows Sonic while in a party.
Controller

  • Upon resuming from connected standby, you may be prompted to update your controller firmware when no update is available.
Cortana

  • Cortana may take a long time to respond when activated while playing certain games.
Notifications

  • Some users may not receive certain types of notifications.
Game Clips

  • After capturing a game clip, the game clip fails to automatically post to the Activity Feed (if your profile is configured to do so). Workaround: Manually view game clips in Profile > Captures > Manage captures and post to the Activity Feed.
EA Access

  • The EA Access app may indicate you are not an EA Access subscriber when you are. This does not affect your ability to download or play games from the Vault, or receive discounts on EA titles.
Settings - Ease of Access

  • When enabling the Mono output setting in Ease of Access - Audio, Settings becomes unresponsive, crashes, and fails to launch on subsequent attempts.
    • Workaround: To launch Settings, perform a hard reset (hold down the button on the front of the console for five seconds until it fully powers down, then power it back on).
Settings - Display & sound

  • The Audio output page is under construction and some of the new settings are not yet functional. New support is planned for Dolby Atmos for home theater, Dolby Atmos for headphones, and more in upcoming builds. An announcement will be made when these new features are ready to try out; enabling these settings now will have no effect.
Wireless Display

  • The Wireless Display app fails to launch and immediately crashes to Home.
