not a fan of subscription services, but $10/mo is reasonable and at least you can download the game directly to the console and you get a discount should you decide to buy the game.
of course, given how long it took to download digital games to my X1 (back when I owned an X1 ), by the time I'd download the game, the month would be over and the game would be inaccessible.![]()
Haha. 360 games are tiny though in comparison.
Remember when we didn't need to download games to play them...![]()

It seems Microsoft has their lips sealed...for now.
It's been tough to get many concrete details on Microsoft's upcoming Project Scorpio, but it seems that some still unannounced games will be a big part of the console's launch. In speaking with Generación Xbox, Xbox Spain's PR and Social Manager, Juan Carlos González revealed that there would be "several" launch games for Scorpio that will have "respective benefits of the new hardware."
When asked about Scorpio's price point, he said:
"We still do not have information we can share about the Project Scorpio price. What I can say is that there will be several launching games for the game console, with the respective benefits of the new hardware."González did not share exact details on what these games are or even if they were true first part titles, but if recent history is any indication, it would be a significant help if they were. González continued:
"There are projects and titles still unpublicized this year, that I am convinced they it will be a pleasure for many Xbox users and other users who have not take the leap from. We will have to wait a little bit to share more details, but we already know some details and this year looks very good."It seems at this point, Microsoft is content to wait out the fan storm for the time being to set the stage for a much bigger reveal, with E3 2017 being the likely target date. Microsoft recently announced that their E3 2017 Press Conference would be held earlier this year, on Sunday, June 11th, something that Bethesda leveraged to their advantage back in 2015.
Everything remains to be seen at this point, but you have to think that something is cooking over at Xbox and that it's just a matter of time.

No pre-ordering yet, but the page is ready
Project Scorpio is Microsoft's latest hype machine for Xbox One users. We've learned quite a bit about it, that it's basically like a PlayStation 4 Pro for Xbox One, but the team has still been relatively tight-lipped about it. That didn't stop them from launching a pre-order page for it though.
While pre-orders aren't being taken yet, the page does have a prompt to let Microsoft email you when Project Scorpio is available. It's also currently listed as Holiday 2017 for release.
It also read a few bullet points for the hardware:
See the pre-order page here.
- The most powerful console ever with 6 teraflops of graphical processing power
- The first and only console to enable true 4K gaming and high-fidelity virtual reality
- Compatible with all Xbox One games and accessories

Streamers and YouTubers may have a console of choice.
[YT]F1dRgWpGePs[/YT]
Despite how things are looking right now, it appears Microsoft is cooking something big behind closed doors with Project Scorpio. According to Windows Central, the Scorpio console will not be coming with a Power Brick, a feature that has awkwardly existed since the dawn of the original Xbox, though the Xbox One S managed to do away with it as well. Like the S, Scorpio will feature an internal Power Supply Unit as well as 4K video streaming for stuff like Netflix and Hulu.
However, what's most intriguing is that Project Scorpio will be able to capture and output 4K, 60FPS video for Game DVR and streaming. By comparison, the original Xbox does this at 720p, 30FPS. So if you've been in the market for a video capture card, it might be wise to hold off and allocate that money for a Scorpio if you can achieve the best quality through the console, plus have a new platform to play games on.
In other Project Scorpio news, the console just recently launched a pre-order page with a Holiday 2017 release window. There's still no word on a price point, but that hasn't stopped fans from making their predictions. Scorpio is also said to be launching with some platform specific games that will take advantage of its hardware, but once again, we have no idea what they are. The safe bet is that we will see more of the game, and get a price and release date come E3 2017.
Source: [Windows Central]
That's great. It was annoying that the X1 DVR only captured in 720p and 30FPS so going up to 4K 60 FPS is a big difference.
And we thought the Switch was cheap.

No new features! Just fixes.

There is a new preview update available to Insider Program members! The update was previously available as an Alpha preview but has moved on to the Beta phase. Unfortunately, there are no new features in the update.
In the stead of new features, Insider members can look forward to a number of fixes that could have been deemed as annoying. The microphone issue that made it so group members couldn't hear you or party chat displayed 'no microphone' should be resolved and some game crashing issues should be resolved.
There are a few more details available, which you can find below:
DETAILS
OS version released: rs_xbox_dev_flight.170308-1900
Available: 6:00PM PST 3/13 (12:00AM GMT 14/3)
FIXES:
Games & Apps
Party Chat
- Fixed an issue which could sometimes cause games to unexpectedly crash during play.
- Improved the launch times for certain games and apps.
Microphone
- Resolved an issue which caused Party Chat to display a "no microphone" error when a microphone is connected and in use.
Skype
- Fixed an issue which sometimes caused microphone audio to not be recognized or sound distorted. This affected game chat (users in group can't hear the user speaking, or audio quality is poor) and voice messaging (voice messages fail to record correctly).
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Resolved an issue which could sometimes cause Skype to crash while multiple users are signed in.
Party Chat
Controller
- Party chat will stop functioning when headset audio is switched from Stereo Uncompressed to Windows Sonic while in a party.
Cortana
- Upon resuming from connected standby, you may be prompted to update your controller firmware when no update is available.
Notifications
- Cortana may take a long time to respond when activated while playing certain games.
Game Clips
- Some users may not receive certain types of notifications.
EA Access
- After capturing a game clip, the game clip fails to automatically post to the Activity Feed (if your profile is configured to do so). Workaround: Manually view game clips in Profile > Captures > Manage captures and post to the Activity Feed.
Settings - Ease of Access
- The EA Access app may indicate you are not an EA Access subscriber when you are. This does not affect your ability to download or play games from the Vault, or receive discounts on EA titles.
Settings - Display & sound
- When enabling the Mono output setting in Ease of Access - Audio, Settings becomes unresponsive, crashes, and fails to launch on subsequent attempts.
- Workaround: To launch Settings, perform a hard reset (hold down the button on the front of the console for five seconds until it fully powers down, then power it back on).
Wireless Display
- The Audio output page is under construction and some of the new settings are not yet functional. New support is planned for Dolby Atmos for home theater, Dolby Atmos for headphones, and more in upcoming builds. An announcement will be made when these new features are ready to try out; enabling these settings now will have no effect.

- The Wireless Display app fails to launch and immediately crashes to Home.
