Thor Ragnarok Spoilers - Part 1

That is true, Thor is a better man and hero. He always tried to do right, he didn't have evil moments or keep secrets like Odin did in the past. Thor has never liked keeping secrets. He also continues to let Loki live and sees the good in him.
yeah, I loved the scene were he knew Loki would double cross him and planned ahead. I think that was the turning point for Loki and he finally self-sacrificed in the end by rescuing the Asgardians from Sokovia in the SHIELD ship.. oh wait.. :oldrazz:
Yep. Have we seen much of this before from him? Usually we see brute strength and power, but against an opponent with more strength/size etc it was much easier to showcase these qualities (and done very well).
I think that's been in every movie...
Thor 1 - fighting the shield agents with no powers
Thor 2 - quietly taking out the Asgardian soldiers en route to sneaking out of Asgard
Avengers- One on one with the hulk... remember that uppercut?
Avenger 2- Soloing all those Ultron bots...

Plus making Hela Thor and Loki's sister Odin's daughter now that was a twist I didn't see coming but it would make sense why she would feel it is her right to rule Asgard especially if she is the first born

Maybe you shouldn't have spoiled that for people in other threads then, huh? :whatever:

Just saw it!! Awesome movie!!

But I must heard wrong,

Banner said he has been in 2 planets before he went to Asgard??

Misheard, he said he's only been to one planet but technically he has been to two before going to Asgard (Earth and Sakaar lol).

Thanks for the examples. To me he didn't look all that super-fast/agile and technically skilled/as efficient at countering and elusive as you say in most of those situations. He moved a bit like a WWE wrestler in some of those Thor 1 scenes. I think his showing in Ragnarok was a cut above while still showing the strength to impact Hulk which each of those well placed, strategic blows.

Bro, Thor got stabbed by Hela like 10 times and in places like the CHEST and through the back. Clearly Hela hit several of his vital organs, on the bridge she sent a huge spear through him

A lot of the stabbing was done casually while they were on the balcony, I thought to myself "Damn, can Thor even die?".

He gets pounded by both Hulk and Hela and carries on as if he's just been for a run.

ooh yeah I would definitely agree this is him at his best and fastest in the one on one sense. Its night and day compared to his Iron Man scuffle.

Yeah, this Thor Hulk fight is infinitely more rewatchable than the IM one. ;)

Scheduling issue, she is suppose to be "Banished" but the movie never said. She was likely banished the same time as Heimdall.

thanks, idk if i was missing something from agents of shield or some marvel show.

Sif + Valkyrie teaming up in a 4th Thor would be awesome

I thought this was the turning point for Loki as well. I think the combination of Thor's real talk plus however many minutes he spent on the ground receiving "shock therapy" finally got through to him. I found it really bittersweet that the moment Thor tells Loki he thought the world of him and still holds out hope for him ("You'll always be the God of Mischief, but you could be more") occurred at the same time Thor was basically letting Loki go. And you can see that realization on Hiddleston's face in the elevator scene.

It was really smart of Taika and the writers to go this route. It gave Thor the opportunity to move on from the exhausting and somewhat stale cycle of trying to "save" Loki, and it challenged Loki to change or risk losing his brother. Those stakes never really existed for Loki before, and this time he couldn't manufacture another chance at having Thor's approval/love by faking his death again. He's always defined himself in opposition to Thor or Odin, and with both of them gone I imagine he had to do some soul-searching. Or as much soul-searching as you can do while you're being electrocuted.

Anyway, the development in this relationship was one of the most satisfying parts of the movie for me. I'm curious to see how it continues to play out in IW/A4.

Given what they did to The Warriors Three (ugh), I rather doubt it. Also they movie could have at least MENTIONED that she was banished. I really dislike it when films/TV shows do that (have notable characters from past installments just be gone and then not bother to explain it). It's a pet peeve of mine in-general.

That's exactly what I've been saying, as far as offensive power there doesn't to be a big gap. But when it comes to durability there seems to be a noteworthy gap between them.

Hela was a bit more skilled and resourceful/practical I think though.

Did you guys notice after Odin died, the skies were getting darker, and thunder was rumbling as Thor was getting angry with Loki? THOR

It took 10 seconds to mention Jane dumped Thor. The best time would have been during the play scene. I don't even think she had a actor in the play, but the other Warriors were in it.

She could have been mentioned when Thor was talking about Valkyrie being a strong women warrior group.

She would have died for sure though.

I noticed the sky, it was like Thor emotions were truly connected to it. Hela also being freed could be tied to it going dark.

I still think his scuffle with Iron man says A LOT. There was context. Thor was being passive, wasn't even half serious until he body slammed Iron man, and he was weakened from Odin conjuring him to Earth, its canon in the comic.

Plus, that was Iron man's most powerful ordinary armor, he was in his prime there. And he was boosted x4. And he was still losing to a depowered holding back Thor.

Honestly I like the movie. But man did I really get annoyed with how those characters were treated. It's almost like Marvel look at the complaints that they weren't used enough in the last two films, and decided to thumb their noses at people by giving them the lames/most underwhelming deaths here. I mean Volstagg and Fandral in particular went out like punks.

I hope she comes back and it would be very interesting to see how these 2 relate to each other.

Thor doesn't really fight to kill though. I feel he held back in that IM fight he knew he was a man in a suit. He wasn't going to go all out he just wanted Loki. Fighting Hulk he sees him as a beast really and knows he has so much strength.

I noticed that and I noticed the skies getting dark right before Thor's big action set piece at the end.

Did you notice Thor sending a lightning wave through the bifrost destroying a section of it sending Hela into the water. He did this with ONE attack, remember how many Mjolnir strikes it took in the first film.

That was pathetic, no need for it. Hogun went out well though so I don't know why they couldn't all have fought to the death like that (even if at the same time to save on time being wasted if that was an issue).
