Ooooo Faraci liked it.

The best superhero action ever put to film

I'm kind of shocked to see a comment like that after he fawned all over The Avengers last summer.

The lack of humor rather fits in with Superman's character. He is noble, benevolent and selfless - but alien, a continual outsider who idealizes humanity and never seems to be capable of recognizing their true nature.
I never felt he was meant to be funny in the comics and so often comes across as eerily polite, otherworldly and untrustworthy*.
All of which make him an excellent character, but not the buffoon people expect him to be.

*By which I mean that humanity places so much trust in him, that his mere absence from any situation is viewed as a betrayal. Superman has made people so reliant on him being there that they have unrealistic expectations.

goyer has more of a subtle comedy sometimes a bit black comedy i like that better

Its 80% on RT's home page right now. But when I clicked on Man of Steel's page, its still 92%.

Imagine what it would be like here if it was 12 negatives, and only 3 positives...

I'm usually not one to have a go a critics, in fact I'm firmly against critic bashing, but when your headline is simply 'Whatever' and you ***** about the mythology being screwed as an opening then frankly you need to have a long hard look at yourself as to whether you're watching this movie for the right reasons. The epitome of whiny fanboy right here ladies and gentlemen.
