I'd only be concerned if it dropped below a 60%.

They may have been true of that Sucker Punch experiment. One might say it was true of 300, though in the same breath the man simply achieved an accurate adaptation of material far more straight forward than the source material here. I won't even get into the dynamics of a solid zombie movie.
Or how he nailed everything in that owl movie none of his detractors bothered watching.

However Snyder imo, makes time for all sorts of things with his story telling. From action to emotional beats. Weather people were won over by Watchmen, no one can deny these "touchy, gushy, ooohhs and aahhhhhs moments" weren't present. From Roarsach's last moments to the dramatic rape scene to the quiet scenes with Patrick Wilson and his shame...

Maybe if like other directors, he just removed the action completely(or at the least delivered it with less splendor), people would actually take notice of the rest of the stuff.

Watchmen didn't really capture the essence of what the graphic novel was about. Visually, no complaints (except some of the costumes). Some of the characterization was solid. But it was a colossal failure for what admittedly was a daunting task that he was nowhere near ready for. 300 was good for what it was. People should have catered their expectations accordingly. I actually liked the Owl movie, for what it was. Maybe it's not fair to kill the guy, but based on the body of work, it did not merit getting a project like this. This movie should have been a slam dunk critically for DC to have any future on the big screen. Obviously audiences will make the ultimate decision, but right now, it's looking a bit flat.

Don't freak out people.

Tbh, I really could give a damn what these "professional" critics think.

The twitter reviews from normal people the past few days is good enough for me to feel confident in this movie.

Joe Neumaier MOS 3/5 Rotten

All of his other 3/5's on his first 2 pages Fresh

This is why I do not care for rotten tomatoes. Critics choice is at 88% which is more than good for me

I have to wear my Superman shirt inside out now.

41 reviewers gave Begins a rotten. Ended up with an 85%.
18 gave TDK a rotten. (94%)
23 gave Avengers a rotten. (92%)
16 gave Spider-man 2 a rotten. (94%)
29 gave X2 a rotten (87%)
30 gave X-Men: FC rotten (88%)

Point is - we're still a good long way away from ruling out a mid 80's to low 90's rating.

This. What do reviewers on RT know anyway? I saw one on there this morning that was one line: "Whatever." What kind of review is that?

I missed the good old days before the internet when people just went to the movies and made up your OWN minds.

I knew it. So 3/5 is a fresh. So we could have like 4-5 extra fresh reviews for MoS.

What is RT doing? and is there a way to tell them to change it?

Don't worry I'm sure WB has their ninjas that will make sure all is fair in the end. :woot:

Look at this guys rating of MoS: 3/5. This is classified as a rotten review, and yet EVERY other film that he gave 3/5 to or more is considered a fresh review. W.T.F.?

Maybe expectations are just so ridiculously high that it is merited? I don't know, this is Superman, right? Greatest ****ing superhero that ever lived. You can't deliver something on ASM or IM3 level. This should have been comparable to Nolan's Batman series both critically and financially, perhaps not right off the bat, but in the sequels to come, assuming they come. It just doesn't look like the fantastic start we were hoping for.
