You're completely missing the point. No one is asking for Seth Rogen to show up cracking jokes. Levity. People wanted more levity.

like what? Have you actually seen the film to say there is none in this movie. From the clips ive seen hes smiled while flying, im assuming hes having some fun. He seems to have a nice moment with lois landing in a field of corn. Thus far im loving the tone of this film, the more serious it is the better. I want to see a badass superman, not a 20min fly around the park with Lois. I had enough of that stuff.

How was the last fight between Superman and Zod.Was it epic?

He's seen the film, yes.

That's literally the worst line in the movie. So bad. Can't imagine how it got past the first draft.

I just don't know how something like this ended up in the final cut. It was the first bad sign after the stellar trailers.

Seen it twice. 3D and standard

Then obviously you are a better judge than I

Again, no one is asking for knee-slapping, knuck-knuck jokes. Levity. The key is levity to balance out the dark nature of any genre film. Nolan's Batman movies have it. Snyder's 300 has it. It's a necessity to make a film like this flow well. This film tries it, but some of the jokes are bad. Transformers 2 bad.

I knew the line was coming and it really didn't feel that out of place. Her reaction after what just occurred with Superman makes more sense than you might think.

He's seen the film, yes.

And he rated Green Lantern higher than MOS, so there goes his credibility. Most critics so far have rated MOS positively, so now is up to the box office to determine the future of the DC cinematic universe.

I think I need to leave this thread, it's becoming ridiculous. "I haven't seen the move but I know I'm going to be disappointed"

It's because you've made 666 posts. It's the devil talking to you. Don't listen to him, MOS will be great!:woot:

Anybody but Nolan, right? :oldrazz:

lol, I'm no Nolan fanboy, but I know this is Snyder/Goyer's movie. If Nolan had any ****** ideas, then Snyder and Goyer should've fixed it. And I don't think he was heavily involved in this movie.

Maybe. I remember something like this in the trailer of TDKR. "Oh, boy, you're in for a show tonight, son" sounded terribly in the spot, but ended up really in the right place in the movie. So maybe it's just the edit. Yet we saw the opinion of a person who saw the movie. Looks like it's just as bad as in the spot.

How many moments of levity are there in TDKR? Was there really any? TDK has the luxury of having the Joker to provide some moments, as perverse as they are.

I served in the military 11 years and I've never seen a woman react to anyone like that ever. It's rather disrespectful to have the one female military officer act like a ditsy sorority girl.

That actress' presence in the entire movie is awful. She's either making bad jokes or offering forced exposition.

I've seen it once, and I'll be watching it tomorrow at 7 as part of the Wal Mart promotion. And I've gotta say, in my opinion, the Transformers 2 comparisons in terms of humor are WAY off the mark.

I would really like to hear what moments you felt stooped to those levels.

I agree. That line should have never been in the movie.

Agreed. The fact that its in every TV spot in the last month gives me the feeling the studio suits saw that the film wasn't tracking well with female audiences, and shoehorned it into all their ads to smack women on the head on the fact that Cavil is attractive.:o

I guess I'm the only one, but I actually think the line is kinda funny. At least in the context of the trailer; don't know how it plays in the movie itself yet.

I don't rate Green Lantern better than MOS. I don't compare them at all. Every movie has to stand on it's own merits.

GL also came out before The Avengers and Iron Man 3 and TDKR. The Bell Curve continuously changes as more/better movies come out. If I were to rate GL today I would give it 1/4 star. But I haven't seen it since it came out so I can't say for sure.

I don't think any of Nolan's films have had levity to them. That's one of his major flaws. His films are too serious for their own good. And they're far too heavy for their own good, as in he tries to do waaaaay too much in the time allotted.

The donner movies are being referenced because he nailed the character. His superman had charm, charisma, and his good nature was inspiring. These are integral aspects of the character that can be modernized without the camp. And it can be used to balance out the serious moments and the drive to endure the darker moments.

so you liked it then since you've seen it twice? im confused, you sound like you didnt like the film, not sure why you'd see it twice then.

I'm not trying to be offensive, and I respect your time in the service. But this is a movie, and I doubt many service women and men have encountered Superman or other aliens with superpowers. I think typical reactions and normal behavior go out the window in those situations.

TDKR is IMO the worst one in the trilogy. Begins and TDK nailed the levity angle. TDKR tried but faltered. MOS I feel just failed.

Well that's what I actually like about it-- the fact it's so unexpected.

MOS, just saw this film... wow... simply amazing. I am so glad this is Superman we finally got or get. The action, I cried at the action, so good
