59% we have a green splat guys, it's over....

LOL, everytime it dips we're going to have new members sign up to tell us all the doom and gloom. Oh's no's! RT this, RT that!

Screw it. Tonights the night!:jedi

The Hulk tearing apart the fighter jet skin was definitely reused. As was the Obiwan jumping down in the opening of Attack of the Clones and being caught by Anakin in the speeder were used on Krypton.

Took me out of the movie so much when they happened.

Oh absolutely. Recycled imagery is a glaring point of disappointment. Just shows unoriginality. Just like the skyscraper being cut in half like in Transformers 3.

But I was much more let down by that big finale. I had to go home and rewatch the end of Matrix 3 to make sure I wasn't falsely remembering it.

Yep, the rubbery of the CGI figures definitely reminded me of the Matrix days. That and the whole Jor-El explaining what happened on Krypton scene.

Biggest disappointment was how they pretty much wasted Michael Shannon.

BTW - if you've seen Avengers more than once or the Star Wars prequels enough times (not saying either is good nor bad - just saying if you're a repeat viewer regardless) enjoying seeing VIS FX shots that are EXACTLY THE SAME with new skins on them to be the characters from this movie and not those.

You're entitled to your opinion, and if that's how you saw things, then so be it. I guess you were expecting Snyder and co. to reinvent the wheel or completely revolutionize special effects from the way you're comparing things.

When I was watching the action, it came across as a better real life version of some of the epic showdowns from the Justice League animated series:

I thought it did an excellent job taking what the Avengers did one step further while showcasing the super speed and power of Kryptonians.

Many more reviews should come in today and tomorrow.

The print media will continue to pan this. RT would have to count a lot of blog post to KEEP it in fresh. Realistically it could fall in the 40s or even 30s.

Sooooooooo......I just found out WWZ is being generally well received. I feel like I'm in ****ing bizarro world.

You're right... the 'old liemax' sucks... I am talking about the new ones... the ones that just came out this year...

Also, there's no standard sizes for LieMax, it can be as small as 70feet all the way to hundreds.. we have a couple here, one is way, way larger than the other.. but both were huge.. maybe 1 was 4 story high, the other 5 stories (the bigger one is almost as big as the true IMAX, that we also have here).

See.. this is exactly the problem with IMAX Corp.. they decided to just call all Digital IMAX, 'IMAX'.. there's nothing to differentiate them when in reality there are so many versions..

here are the 3 main ones:

1. The true IMAX (the ones that uses 70mm projectors)

- These are great for IMAX documentaries / shows shot with 70mm film...
- But if you're watching movies on them, you still get only 35mm quality (or, at beats about equivalent to 4K resolution... you can't extract too much from 35mm films anyways)

2. Digital IMAX (the ones you call LieMAX)

- These comes in various sizes, from really small to really huge... the big ones can be almost as big as the true IMAX screens.. or bigger depending on which true IMAX you watch it on...

3. Even within the Digital LieMAX, they keep upgrading the Projectors, Screens, Sound, etc...

- The vast majority uses 2K projectors..
- The very new ones may be using dual Barco 4K projectors, which is way, way better... it's as good as you can go with 35mm films...

Now, with Sound
----------------

The newer LieMAX digital theaters now uses the newest IMAX Sounds.. it's way better than Dolby 7.1. The theater I go to have this.. there are 2 giant (car sized) speakers at the back.. and it uses laser guided system, or something.. not quite sure the technicality of it.. but it's way, way better than the OLD True IMAX theater we have...

I too was confused a month back and did all of these research because i wanted to watch MOS in the best IMAX I can find...

The stuff you're referring to is brand new tech and not available in all US markets just yet. Not even my area. So most people will be too dumb to realize they're seeing it in IMAX D on a 23x58 screen or whatever, like the one in my area. As far as hardcore moviegoers/fans, I'd suggest they do their homework like I have as well. And the best I have seen/heard thus far is 15/70 IMAX so I can't really comment or compare the new dual barco 4k.

Most negative reviews are coming down HARSH for it being of its kind. Simply, a comic-book movie their sick of seeing. So be it, screw that mindset as negative criticism. It's what we've waited for.

Wth? That seems really weird. Especially using a Hulk skin since he's not really moving like a regular humanoid.

So is Monsters University, which also comes out next week, and This is the End. I don't think Man of Steel is going to have the BO legs people think it will, especially considering the mixed reviews ad 155 minute runtime. Man of Steel better do work this weekend.

It's a giant kryptonian in his battle armor. The body motions were EXACTLY the same.

^ So, what are the odds that WB will fast-track Batman in a hopes to salvage a DC U? :(

I'm used to the photorealism effects of the Begins trilogy. While not perfect, it's hit closer to the mark than any other film I've seen in this genre.

Avengers was fine because the CGI melded with the coloful comic-like cartoon aesthetic of that world.

The CGI with it's CGI style completely contrasted with the real world Superman being presented. I did expect new innovations with vis FX.

I'm allowed to have high expectations. It's Superman! Your'e supposed to have the highest of expectations! THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!

I was a big proponent of the WF or the JL movie. Now? Not at all. Not if they're all gonna be like this.

I can tell already Flash is going to be next and they're going to use the same formula and I'm going to hate that movie too.

If this rests permanently at 59%, just ONE percentage point from being fresh...then i'm burning all my clothes...

Reviews dont matter for BO, WOM is where it's at, if the movie has good to great WOM, it will have legs, general audience doesnt know about RT, stop making up stuff dude.

Most people DO know about RT.

And the word of mouth will be split - which generally favors the "not going to see it" crowd because of the general cost of going to the movies these days.

I'm not a fan of this movie - but I do hope it performs well. While I have my issues with it, there were a handful of moments that showed potential and I'd like to see if they can expel on that in a sequel.

Actually Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango are the top two most popular nationwide sites regular movie goers use to reference films. The former because of its popularity, the later because of their ticket sales. I believe third in line (at least last year) was AMC. That doesn't mean everyone checked reviews before buying tickets but it's pretty asinine to act like everyone with a smart phone and tablet is oblivious to those sites existence.

Seems like the people who claim Rotten Tomatoes is so irrelevant are the ones who continuously bring it up.
