My brain almost just exploded. How did I not realize that was him? I think I blocked that movie out of my mind for the most part.

off topic, but it was 10x better than the one that came before it

Have you guys seen Terminator 2? You're all aware that Arnold isn't really that tall, right? But going on that movie, you'd think he was a giant.

Arnold doesn't look like a giant in the Terminator movies...

Watch the bar fight scene and try again. For that matter-- think of Michael Keaton. Never really even considered his height in that movie.

The fact of that matter is that you guys truly do not understand what you're talking about. A Dutch angle and the right framing can make anyone of decent size seem incredibly imposing. Lord Of The Rings is another fantastic example.

Why can't this get dropped? It's turning into the goddamn batsuit thread.

This movie is being made by some of the greatest film makers currently working- especially the DP.

Why do you "bane is short" people act like you
know so much better?

The picture I posted earlier PROVED this.

It's about the angle, perspective and to some degree the color. The editing and even sound effects play a roll.

I have seen Terminator 2 multiple times. He looks like a big, cut guy, which he was at the time, he does not look like a giant.

I am aware of camera angling making people look bigger or smaller a la LOTR, this isn't some secret that only you know and we don't understand. :whatever:

The shot of Bane at the end of the teaser proves absolutely nothing. He is far closer to the camera.

^All good points. Everything can change from spy photos to finished film. So it's better to just wait and see.

Everyone worried that Joker wouldn't wear a purple suit, everyone worried that Dent wouldn't look comic accurate.

Now (and I speak even for myself, not judging others) we worry that Nolan won't make Bane tall.

Well maybe that's just it, maybe he has us all doubting him once again.

I never thought Arnold looked like a giant in T2. Just very muscular.

This height thing is like permawhite joker haha
We'll all be talking about how much better this bane is when the theatrical trailer is released haha

Or maybe his version of Bane just isn't that tall.

Well, no, not if he actually is shorter than Batman...

The best answer is still at the end of the teaser trailer.

I would agree that you cant speculate too much about Bane will actually appear in the movie this early. Still, you have to acknowledge the fact Nolan would have cast a giant if he wanted us to see a giant.

Answer to what question? "Is Bane big?" because I don't think that's a good answer at all.

If the question is: "Will Bane be intimidating" then yes it is a good answer.

Or if the question is: "can film make him appear larger" sure I guess that is an OKAY answer, considering it's only one shot and it's barely even a second long.

Wow! Gone for a couple days and the whole world changes. Sorry bane looks very meh. Don't think it will ruin the movie, but man is it disappointing. The vest looks ridiculous!

Not necessarily, I think he would be more likely to cast someone he feels is a good actor and that he likes to work with, and then would make him appear a giant.

All I know is I really want Bane to beat the **** out of Batman. I've never felt like this about the villian of a movie before, either.

lol

Batman is ten feet away and Bane is walking directly in front of the camera, anyone is gonna look bigger in that context.

This doesn't prove a single thing about Bane's size.

Exactly, but it's the best answer you're gonna get this far from a "in-film" point of view, rather than looking at set pics to go by.

And I think Bane looked big and intimidating enough in that second to make me happy.
