Despite what I've said about angles and such (which WILL make it work) part of me does wonder if Chris Nolan expected Hardy to be more muscular like in Bronson.

I guess not everyone is a body-transforming freak of nature like Christian Bale.

Batman is ten feet away and Bane is walking directly in front of the camera, anyone is gonna look bigger in that context.

This doesn't prove a single thing about Bane's size.

I think we need to define what ripped is. If that is ripped then I am absolutely shredded. Hardy was in great shape for warrior but he is clearly not in that type of shape for this movie, at least not now. We'll see of course but a 5'10 185 pound guy in decent shape is not very intimidating to me.

And to be honest, if he is anywhere near what he was in the warrior. I don't think he is smaller than he was in Bronson. He wasn't even in really good shape, or that big. Once again it was camera tricks plus his massive neck/traps.

I remember Tom saying that it was about not about being cut but about being the size of a brawler in Bronson and that doing that totally screwed up his body. He may have had some health issues after that. Might be a reason why he didn't push it with his size as Bane. He properly trained for Warrior though.

clearly he was more cut up in warrior. he probably weighed more in bronson though. The guy is just not big regardless of how much we want to convince ourselves that he is. Won't kill the movie experience but anyone saying he is intimidating physically here is just lying yo themselves. The suit certainly doesn't help though. Looks more like the leader form TDKR

I don't care what anyone says, Dwayne could have easily owned the role if it's written properly (and it most likely is). He can play a bad-ass no problem, ever seen Faster?

No he isn't. I can name many actors more ripped than he is. Hell Brad Pitt is more ripped.

I see many guys in the gym that look more ripped than Hardy. Hell I'm more ripped than Hardy. I don't know what world you live in but your standards of being "ripped" is really low.

He said he was getting up to a certain weight. We don't know if that happened or not. He may be 185-190. That's cool and all but certainly not crazy big. It looks like he ate more and lifted some ehavy weights, but he certainly did not put on 30 pounds of muscle.

Dwayne played a homo for crying outloud and he played it well! He's not even a homo in real life and he pulled it off in Be Cool where he was supposed to be a gay cowboy. He's not your typical action movie buff. He doesn't have too many action movies.
