Maybe Bane does different voices throughout the film? One voice for the football stadium scene, and his normal voice for when he's up against Batman.
Ill be surprised if some of the members here dont have strokes before the december trailer. Relax man. Christ.
What pisses me off about Nolan is he tries to get rid of comic book elements to make it more 'realistic', when he should use realism to justify the presence of comic book elements. For example: Thor wasn't realistic, but it used realism to justify itself, and it was very successful. Not as successful as Dark Knight, but that wasn't because of the 'realism', but because of Ledger's performance as a character.
Nolan is holding Batman back too much. Considering DC is already holding back all their other characters, I don't consider that a good thing.
Settle down, Slugger.I don't care what the scene could hypothetically be. I care about what it sounds like now. It sounds like crap now, and thus I have total right to make fun of it as much as I damn please.
And don't pull that 'Nolan didn't intend for us to hear it' bullcrap. If he didn't intend for people to hear it, he wouldn't have had it broadcasted in a goddamn football stadium to a large crowd. It's not like it was in a building or on a sound stage. An open area into a microphone.
The only acceptable explanation is that at that moment, Bane sounds weaker without the Venom, which wouldn't make sense considering he's breathing it.

Thank you.
As to Bane being described as "part man and part machine", is it not likely that this is metaphorical?

'Over The Edge' is definitely my favorite interpretation of Bane. IMO, nothing else in animation comes close. I hope Hardy will be as good.
It's possible. Maybe the announcer was trying to create a sense of fear in the crowd? Perhaps by reminding everyone of Darth Vader, as he's the character that's most often referred to as part man/part machine in popular culture...
Were you one of these guys ?I'm not freaking out. I'm just saying that I'm sick of people saying 'Oh, you don't know the context!' and 'It'll be done in post!'. Those are hypothetical. If I want to judge what I can see for sure is there.
Hell, I even play along with the whole 'context' crap at the end of my post.
Also, just so it didn't get lost in the swarm of posts:

That voice reminds you of Darth Vader?
James Earl Jones sounds nothing like that.

I wouldn't say over the edge. More like balancing off the side of it. He goes to the very extreme, but stays in some form of control the whole time.
If he were over the edge, he'd have killed Batman instead of breaking him.

It's the title of a BTAS episode, that features Bane.

Why would he change voices? What reason would he do a different voice for on purpose (at least, the way you phrased it indicates he knowingly changes voices) for no damn reason?
Simple: he has multiple personality disorder.
One minute he is himself, as bane, muscle of an organization out to break batman. But the next, he is an aging football announcer.
He has also been seen delivering mail as 'mailman bane' and trying to solve mysteries in people's backyards as 'inspector bane'. And when he gets really angry, he becomes the diabolical 'professor chaos. bane'.

"Over the Edge" has got to be my favorite episode.
Bane: "A fight to the death?"
Batman: "It makes no difference now..."
Bane: "Time to die!"
Batman: "You first."
