The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XII

in all sorts of seriousness. They will highly unlikely be using that audio simply because he is behind a mask. They are probably going to do some ADR (additional dialogue recording encase some people didn't know). I don't see them getting the audio from the stadium and are just using it as reference.

over on nolan fans they said he gave an interview in empire magazine where it was stated his accent would be caribbean. Just thought Id pass it along.

Any exact quote given? Or anything else about Bane in that mag?

still defending with the '' they will change it in post'' argument?

they do ARD to have clean audio for the finished movie. the actor still speaks and act the same way like on the set.

Well, we know that most of Hardy's lines will be done in post production. They said that in the Total Film Magazine (You have to read the entire article, not just the snippets posted online).

However, I think it's reasonable to assume some sort of effect will be added to Hardy's voice. I doubt they're going to drastically change it, but possibly add some sort of machine sounding qualities, possible respirator noises, etc. Something to that effect, and we have no idea how that will impact our opinion on it. For example, imagine the difference between hearing James Earl Jones say his Darth Vader lines, and then hearing the lines with the respirator noises and the slightly metallic quality they added to his voice. Small additions, but they made a huge difference.

normally i would agree but the audio is probably crap mainly because of the obstruction over his face. Its like Vader, they aren't going to sweeten his audio because the mic is going to get muffeled sound.

I don't think that they might make a drastic change, but it isn't ruled out simply because you don't see his mouth and you can redub his lines.

Also they do ADR for all sorts of things, but also to get clean sound which i highly highly doubt they got there.

I still have mixed feelings about the voice. I guess I can only judge properly until the movie comes out. Still don't get the chanting then hearing the British voice. Mind****.

Bane's voice just sounds too stoopid to be the real deal.

It's like seeing Batman's cowl with a Daffy Duck mask on the front. It just has to be a joke.

Right?

wait ...people have heard banes voice? wtf where have i been?

yea...if thats banes voice in that amadeus arkham sounding clip...im going to go ahead and pull out the BS flag

Judge for yourself:

You know, this voice of his is growing on me! :woot:

Question: do we have anyone from the military on here? I'm still not having any luck finding that kind of vest Bane wears in TDKR.

And BTW, I did have a little progress; the pants Bane wears are Emerson Tactical series. I even found the color! :woot:

Those will run you to $50. I'm sure I'll run into the right boots soon, as well as the sort of coat he wears; otherwise, my intention is to completely make/fabricate the Bane mask from scratch, as well as the glove he wears on his right hand. :word:

Is this true?

If so, close enough!

I have no idea. I read it on the bane thread over there and the poster who posted it didn't provide a link or anything, but said it would be in the next edition of the magazine. Who knows. Figured it wouldn't hurt to post it.

I can't say the same, unfortunately. The more I hear it, the harder it is to picture him speaking that way. I know we're getting an explanation as to why he sounds that way, as it's way too out of the ordinary for it to be normal.

And those pants are cool. Although I'd most likely wear them on a regular basis and not just for costumed occasions =P

Not exactly. Empire guessed that Bane will have a Caribbean accent because they thought there was a hint of Caribbean in his voice at his recent interviews. :o

This was the blurb about it:

2. Tom Hardy is Bane- He threatened to steal the show in Inception, and as the upcoming Warrior proves he bulks up beautifully, so Hardy must have seemed ideal casting to Nolan for the pumped-up, big-brained villain. (Interesting note: there seems to be a Jamaican tinge to Hardy’s accent in recent interviews, suggesting the script has kept the character’s Caribbean origins)

Most of my high school graduating class enlisted to the military (Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, etc) and I've already presented the picture to them for some insight. Unfortunately, it did not pay dividends. My guess is Bane's tactical vest is costume-made for the film.

It's still unknown if that vest is specifically used for combat situations, or Bane's personal needs.

Will Bane perchance be likened to a buffalo soldier, then?

...sorry.

He didn't sound remotely Caribbean in that sound clip.
