This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]370359[/split]
The character is. Given that Hardy is shorter than Bale, the Nolan version does not appear to be.
I know...I know...but they'll be the using "teh camera trickery". Camera trickery can only do so much.
AWWW YEAAHHHH
He's wearing lifts in his shoes. Hardy stands the same size as Bale on set.
With the trickery he will be bigger.
Does that end this?
No it doesn't. For some of us, Bane should be around 6'5 or so. He should tower over Batman...not look him dead in the eye. I hope it's a great movie and I hope that Hardy will be great, but there are some things are are unnecessarily distracting. If the Joker didn't have a white face, people would be justifiably ready to riot.

Hardy looks about 6'6 in this picture

It's called perspective.

No...
He stands equal on set. Now add force perspective to that and he will be visibly taller than Batman. They're clearly not shooting them to their literal heights.
Does that ease your mind?
Well the train for that kind of Bane in this movie is long gone. I'm sorry you feel that way and that it will be distracting. But you can't please everyone.
I don't think Bane towering over Batman is something essential to an adaptation of his character. I'm nowhere near that purist. But I respect that some are.
Physical dominance is Bane's defining trait. So long as that's established (by Bane kicking the living **** out of Batman), I'm willing to compromise on the height/size issue."Forced perspective" and "camera trickery" can only do so much. The fact that people want to use two seconds from the trailer and a "come at me bro" picture as some sort of proof proves absolutely nothing. When the camera angle is shot from directly behind Bane with Batman standing about ten feet away OF COURSE BANE IS GOING TO APPEAR BIGGER. Every shot of them together will not be like that. There's no way.
