The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XVII

I scrolled up and counted 3 people on this page alone that called him fat/puffy.

Maybe this is why he wears the mask. It's got nothing to do with breathing difficulties or inhalation of a strength enhancing gas... It's to stop him eating.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we saw him without his mask and underneath there's this burnt up skeleton/teeth/jaw line left.... :wow:
Some fire damage thingy would be cool, though different in design to Dent.

What's this about Bane being a fat midget!??!?!! :cmad: :cmad: :cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

But he is :oldrazz:

I had a dream where Bane took hostage of my work.

He was one scary mother****er. Like he looked like the The Dark Knight Rises Bane, but he was the kind of guy where you know if you talked back you'd get massacred.

Weird I know, but he was absolutely terrifying, scarier than the Joker, and I hope he is captured the same way in TDKR.

It disturbs me how fat Tom Hardy is. He probably wears that vest to cover up his fat gut. Bale too. Just a couple of fat guys fighting over the last Thanksgiving turkey leg.

cough this is called sarcasm or otherwise facetiousness. I know there are at least a couple of people on this forum incapable of understanding so thought I'd add this part.

Hey guys, one thing I just realized about Bane's anasthetic mask. Since it basically holds his pain off but doesn't cure it, he's living with a constant pain consistently rippling through his body, and even if he can't feel it at all (which I doubt), he's always reminded of it by his mask, which is basically welded on his face. In effect, the one thing that will never abandon him, never leave him, and always remain trues is a pain. A bane of his existance, if you will.

And I kind of doubt he feels absolutely no pain. I think he's likely to have at least some kind of dull ache perpetually coursing through his body, so he definitley feels pain. But because he's probably experienced his own pain without gas at least once, nothing will ever really compare to his own, since his is actually lethal. For him, it might actually be true that hurting him only makes him angry. Maybe he can jack with the amount of anasthetic he's recieving kind of like his venom injections in the comic. He pushes a button on his mask, the audience hears an intake of breath, and Bane just got worse, either feeling less pain or feeling more, somehow increasing his focus and power.

Anybody else like the meaning of his name now?

Good post Mr God. Ive said from since they revealed bane that that mask is utterly horrifying once you realize hes..stuck with it permanently. Its grotesque the experimentation hes gone through... And yeah as someone with low level chronic pain I can tell you it makes life...difficult.. Even if his pain is masked something will just feel not right. Add that to his other attributes and he becomes extremely dangerous.

Hardy is quite short and added a lot mass for character..He looks ripped in Warrior.Bulky in TDKR.

I wouldn't call that fat, but he looks more bulky/buff than ripped.

Uhh...there is a difference between bulky ripped/ripped and fat. What a bunch of weirdos in here. In Warrior Hardy was ripped, as Bane he is bulky, with more mass. Not "fat".

Makes plenty of sense though, the physique of a professional fighter should be leaner. Bane, I don't think, is concerned with his body fat percentage like a fighter who has to make weight is.

He was leaner in Warrior and he has more bulk and mass as Bane. Fanboys, that is not called fat.

*Sigh*

Nobody believes, in all sincerity, that Tom Hardy is fat. Go back and read the last few pages. Outside of a few people making jokes, people are commenting on how his body fat ratio is higher than it was in Warrior - hence why he looks bulkier (and less toned) here than he did in that film. Saying that someone has a higher body fat percentage is not the same as calling someone fat. There is a difference. I don't know what some of you are reading, but you're misunderstanding what we are saying.

Besides, have you all forgotten what Tom Hardy said in an interview way back in February?

Interviewer: "How do you bulk up?"
Tom Hardy: "Fat. A lot of fat. And trickery."

By his own admission, Tom says part of his bulking-up process for Bane was putting on fat.

Again, nobody honestly believes that Hardy is a tub of lard in this film. How many times do I have to explain this?

Bulking routines arent the same as shredding routines. For Warrior he had to watch what he ate, for Bane he prob didnt since his goal was overall bodyweight. Considering Hardys bodytype, a bulk routine with some extra burgers, lots of whole milk, some ice cream will add muscle and fat = more overall size.

Will Smith did the same thing when he needed to add overall bodyweight for Ali... heavy lifting w/ lots of burgers and ice cream.

Bane's body looks huge enough. Kudos to Hardy, as I've been wanting such a body for a long time. Patience, the right meals, hard training...

Too huge would be campy and having a lot of strength doesn't mean you have to look like most bodybuilders.
