The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XXIV

I'm not quite believing that Bruce is going to die in this. I'm leaning towards something like Batman "dies" but Bruce doesn't. You know what I mean? I can't see Nolan just doing an obvious, guessable thing like killing off the main character to end the series. That would be Matrix all over again. It's too simplistic and guessable and Nolan doesn't do simplistic or guessable. Everything's always as complicated and surprising as can be with him, which I love.

he will bury his bat mask next to his parents grave in the end.

Dude I really hope that you didn't just tell me the actual ending to it.

oh, never thought about that scenario! That would be quite cool :)

Yes, I know what you mean. Batman was the symbol Bruce used.

you see, I don't think Bruce's real identity is Batman. Batman is an important part of him. It'll always be, because it symbolize his incapacity to accept his parents death. He'll never really be at peace with that, in the sense that he can't accept injustice. He needs to be Batman (or to let his Batman persona live, even if that doesn't mean putting the suit on), because he will always need to fight against what took his parents away from him. But in the end, he's more thant Batman.

Bane, on the other hand, is Bane. It's not a part of him, it's really all that he is. So in the end, Bane is not one to find peace, while Bruce could find a kind of closure, even if Batman will always be a part of him.

"I'm using this monster to help other people, just like my father did."

he's using it, but it's more than a tool, it's a part of him. It's a symbol for others, but for him as well. Because in the end, he became Batman because he cares for others.

As Dent said in TDK, "Whoever the Batman is he doesn't want to do this for the rest of his life, how could he? Batman is looking for someone to take up his mantle." I believe that will be the ordinary citizens who stand up for what's right - all of the people that stood by and let scum take control of their City.

And then he'll be shot in the head and the camera will pan to Deadshot watching him from the trees.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

dun dududun dududun dududunun dududuuuuuuun duuuuuuuuun duuuuuuuun

One thing my memory always echoes are the words Anne Hathway said in an interview. She said she couldn't believe Nolan went "there" with the script. With the ending. I don't believe simply retiring Batman or faking Batman's death while Bruce lives on is taking it "there". Unless, of course, she was exaggerating.

in their first encounter, he's not only older, he's also and mostly out of shape because he's surely not training like he used to. But he'll gain his strength back during his time in the prison. Bane may still have the upper hand, but he'll probably be more than able to handle his own in their last encounter.

Sure, I just think he´ll use a good strategy to beat Bane, not just force.

Strategy will probably come into it (disabling the mask somehow), but I think an important aspect in the second encounter is taking Bane straight on. Physically repaying what was done to him in a similar fashion. Not shying away but being confident and dominant.

You see Bruce standing his ground in the clips from the second trailer, and I'm betting Batman being fresh for round two, as opposed to run-down in round one, will play into their fight.

Here's an idea for strategy, though. We know Bruce has a bad leg, so maybe Bane focuses some attacks on his leg to weaken him. We know that for some reason, Bane has a wrist brace on one arm. This is probably just for costuming purposes, but if they establish that hand really is injured, Batman could use that to his advantage.

I remember that as well. Maybe she meant a menage a trois with Selina, Tate and Bruce? Nobody would be expecting that, especially in a Nolan film. :)

Looking at all the posters/tshirts released so far..they aren't on TDKs level..unless im forgetting lots of so-so TDK ones.

Well that just confirms that Hardy's physique as Bane really does.... never mind. I'll end up being flamed at and called a troll.

I will leave it at I am now for sure that Nolan did not want a Bane that is more muscular than bats.

I thought TDK's posters and shirts were pretty mediocre, to be honest. Never really liked the whole 'Why So Serious' thing either.

Will you though? Will you really?

I thought she was talking about the story in general, not specifically the ending.
