Nice pic of Bane. I like how they say he always wears the vest because he's always ready to fight. Just as everybody was terrified of Jesse James. He never took his guns off. But when he did one time, he was killed.

Anybody else think that this new picture of Bane is actually a picture of the Hot Toys Bane action figure? Dunno' why the aesthetic of the photo just kinda' makes it look like. . .like plastic :funny:

You may be right, his hands do look a bit plasticy.

The movie about him was great. Though I was on Robert Ford's side the whole time. :awesome:

And yeah, we've known it's an anesthetic for a while. For what is anyone's guess.

Bane's the man who physically breaks Batman. It's an irresistible force versus an immovable object.
So was the Joker, Nolan.

But we've taken one of the most distinctive mouths in the movie business and covered it up for the entire film!
Glad to see Nolan hasn't lost his touch of seeing the most attractive qualities of his male stars. Doesn't quite have the talent to do the same of his female stars though.

Well we know he suffers from a trauma... but what trauma? Will that be answered? Nolan refers to his past. I'm guessing we might see it, and don't give me spoilers if it's true, I'm just thinking out loud.

One thing I like is that in the trailers we have seen only what is happening in the city, not the flashbacks, I guess he had a disease.

I'm really hoping that doesn't happen this time. With two female leads it looks promising.

Well, he did cast much more memorable actresses as his female stars this time around. Maybe that will help? Fingers crossed.

A long time ago there was a rumour of a young Ras with the LOS burning a village and out of a pit a child emerges with flames on them, maybe explaining how Bane is bald and needs the mask. Not ready to believe that yet, though. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

But what about TEH REALIZM?

You mean along with the microwave emitters and all that jazz? :funny:

I remembered the old rumour and thought I'd share it.

Actually with enough scientific advancement microwave emitters could be very well possible. :o

And if I have ONE MORE LAG or AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR AD pop and interrupt my posts, I'm going to blow up a hospital full of kittens. :jedi

‎"Bane is someone ravaged by pain from a trauma suffered long ago, and the mask dispenses a type of anesthetic that keeps his pain just below the threshold so he can function." - Chris Nolan

Okay now re-read that and replace "Bane" with "Bruce Wayne". Don't think of it in a literal sense. Food for thought.

Finally got to see the trailer in theaters and bane's voice sounds awesome. At the same time it sticks out a lot that it seems to have been recorded separately from the other voices in the scene.

I don't understand, so did something poison Bane and the reason he has the mask is to keep the poison from entering his body?

He was injured and he's in constant pain. The mask anesthetizes the pain by providing him with painkiller in gas form.

Hmm. Weird. I do hope we get the information on how he was injured. Maybe someone broke his back?

There's a rumor that [BLACKOUT]a fire is involved[/BLACKOUT].

I thought the gas makes Bane impervious to pain?
