Was the photo he took with this family only one of the set pics and not part of the actual episode, or did they cut that bit out? I can't imagine he would've stopped to take photos with them in the episode though because he had to fly back to help Kara out since those drones were attacking Lena Luthor's helicopter.

No it was just set pics

There's rumours (although via IMDB so take with a grain of salt) that he will be appearing in two more episodes. Personally after how well he's been received I can see a return happening for sure. I do hope that he gets the chance to appear on the other DC CW shows too.

I would likewise think that periodic return appearances are almost a certain thing. It could just be that they haven't announced any further appearances because they haven't finalized the later scripts of the season.

As for crossover appearances? That I'm dicier on. For the Invasion plot, it probably depends on whether Supergirl joins the story alone, or if she brings friends along ( though even then, I can see Superman being the one to stay behind and "mind the store" ).

I thought we were already told that Supergirl would be doing the crossover alone. She will be the one character that crosses over into all of the shows.

Yeah she is, tbh I think if Superman is going to crossover onto Arrow, the Flash and Legends it makes more sense to do it later. Just having a four way crossover is gonna be a ratings boost so may aswell save Superman for when you next want to boost ratings.

Ahh so damn good to see Clark/Supe's walking and talking like a real person! I love all things Superman even supergrover from sesame street. I have always wanted a fun Indiana Jones like Superman film. It doesn't need to be an end of the world scenario, if they could combine the visual quality of the Snyder films with the charming supes of STM and Supergirl with a simple story reminiscent of the fleschier toons I'd be one happy fan. Really dig the Supe's we are getting in this show.

Did Hoechlin's hair change at all from Clark to Superman or was it exactly the same?

I didn't know they used a similar mesh design to MoS/BvS for the suit:

Finally watched. Tyler just might be favorite Superman yet.

It's cool to find happiness and enjoyment in a Superman unencumbered by the burden of being a novice versus seasoned hero, by being a complex individual versus a two-dimensional cartoon, or by being a supporting character on a 40 minute episode of a TV series versus a cinematic protagonist. However, to describe any other Superman who doesn't fit your preferred mold as not acting "like a real person" feels insulting to real people who aren't always "charming," as you describe. It suggests that when there are people in real life faced with challenges, and who don't react in a particular way that you approve of, that somehow their very humanity deserves to be invalidated. Maybe you didn't like the more troubled world, conflicts, and personal struggles other Supermen had to deal with in their stories, but that doesn't make them or anyone else inhuman or unreal. There's not just one way to be real or be human.

Indeed. I finally got to watch the episode in its entirety last night. Grinning like a complete idiot the entire time. :D

And I hope - I really, really hope - next week's episode won't be the last we see of this Superman.

I really don't understand why they didn't simply tug the cape into the suit.

Agreed, the attachments actually take away from the broadness of his shoulders.

I am watching it again. Second time. Now that I am use to seeing him in the costume, he looks more like Superman than I originally thought. His personality as both Superman and Clark are a wonderful nod to the Donner film(s). His personality is so big that I don't even notice that he isn't exactly the tallest guy in the room.

It's a great, fun performance by Hoechlin. I look forward to potential future episodes with him.
